fun to drive is relative. a Nissan GTR is fun to drive. So is a Honda Accord compared to a Toyota Camry. for reliable you cant go wrong with any of the major Japanese Manufacturers, id just avoid cars that are in the first year of a new model year.

for overall fun to drive, quality and reliability you cant go wrong with a Honda.

For a combination of price, reliability, gas mileage, fun to drive, and comfort, I'd go with a Honda Accord. Not as powerful as a Nissan or as gas efficient as a Toyota but has a combination of everything. Not self-centered on one aspect of car qualities but overall a superb car for the price.

I'd go with Honda & Toyota at the top with Nissan 3rd. Japanese cars > American cars. :(

like you said, depends on your definition of fun. the car's fast, no doubt, but it doesnt come in a manual transmission. I havent read the car&driver or any other popular review of it, but no manual option chops the fun factor.
I dont know about now, but the e30 and e36 (mid 80s-mid 90s) bmw 3 series were the absolute best track handlers out there.
You'd have to sort it by models bc the q45 and LS are luxurious cars that only the best of the other makes can compete with. The CTS-V and IS-F are both ridiculously fast luxury/sports hybrids.

But I guess the least impressive luxury brand would be acura, the designs arent that appealing, and they still make front wheel drive cars.

I think BMW is the best. Their covered maintenance for 4 years is awesome.

Where's Ferrari and Lamborghini? These both are luxury cars.

Well, these two are awesome but I can't afford it obviously.:pBut it's really impressive to speed up from zero to a hundred within 3 seconds.

The most "fun" car I have driven was a mid-90s Dodge Viper followed by a Hummer H1 followed by a Jeep Wrangler. None of them compared to my Suzuki SV-1000. If you want to have fun on the road, get out of the cage.

To me a car is just a thing to get me where I want to go. So I am just looking for something that will last a long time for its value without breaking down very often, so I am going to go with Honda or Toyota until I can trust the other brands to be just as reliable.

I still don't get why the American companies will not bring over there European designers.. Whats the deal with that? Have you guys seen some of the American (Well I guess it's not American) cars in Europe and Australia. And if they can put Diesel engines in there cars how come we can't? Just amazes me.

Fun to drive? I had an MGB for a while. It was lots of fun. But certainly NOT reliable....or practical.

The Jeep Wrangler wins on fun too -- and reliability so far (16 years and counting with no more then oil changes, a new muffler, and brakes). It does lose points on the whole 'held together with zippers' as far as security goes. And, as we found out, it doesn't fit two car seats and a stroller.

BMW/Audi may be score points on the fun to drive front -- but not on reliability long term from the bills I've seen. Thankfully not from personal experience.

I've always liked Mecedes for the luxury class. Perhaps one day, when I have more dollars then sense. There is a 2001 model for sale in the GARM for only $150K.

Fun to drive is high on my list of wants. That's why I'll take a Nissan over a Honda/Toyota every time.

that is funny that wrangler was mentioned a few times. that's what my husband has and yes, it is a fun car to drive. much more fun than my practical accord. but when we go downtown for the rockets games or anything, we have to drive mine since the zipper security is not so good.

we are looking at the new audi a4 to buy here in the next few wks tho!! we test drove it a few mths ago when it first came out. real nice!! i hear great things abt bmw but we just didn't like it. i'm not a fan of the interior and the 3 is a little small while the 5 is a little big.

that's my 2 cents from an almost 30 yr old female.

oh....and i would be selling my 2000 V6 accord sedan with 130K+ miles on it and in excellent condition if anyone is interested.
