That fried chicken thread is makin me hungry. But I am not really a fried chicken person. Give me buffalo wings anyday instead. The best I have ever had is at BW3's. I even ate 10 Blazin ones on a dare one time.
Surprisingly enough, KFC's wings are pretty tasty, if not spicy. Hooters has the most overated wings ever--if I wanted to eat fried batter I would go to Long John's. Pluckers "Fire in the Hole" are the hottest I have ever had. Those pack a punch.
Hell, Domino's Pizza has decent wings. Wings are wings. Hooter's has 25 cent wings when a Top 25 college team plays.
BW3 hot mustard wings...mmmmmm!!! The fellas at Trudy's ordered some wings a couple weeks ago from some place here in Austin. We had 3 varieties: Teriyaki, Sesame and Nuclear. I liked the Teriyaki the best. Sesame was ok, but the Nuclear were explosive!!
I think BW3 has the best meat on their wings, but I looove hooter's hot sauce. it is great.... Michael
Wings n' more . . . AWESOME! Ask them for some samples when you go in . . . they're free, and they all rock! Get some pickle chips too.
Pluckers in Austin. BW-3 is good too. There's a place in Round Rock called WingStop that I've been meaning to check out. Has anyone had wings from a pizza place? I just assumed they would be frozen, and I can get that from the grocery store.
Domino's wings are nasty. They're dipped in that nasty watered down Louisiana "hot sauce". If you like salty vinegar coated wings, they rock.... blllleeeeeeech.
I can't believe this thread has gone this long without mentioning surroundings. Who gives a flip what Hooter's wings taste like...I'm too busy watching the girls!!!
If you're only into ambience, skip Hooters and go to any of Houston's fine strip clubs. Strippers wear even less than Hooter's waitresses and the food is just as crappy.
If you live in Austin the best wings are at: Casino ElCamino on sixth street. Its a dive but they have the best wings and burgers.
Haven't been to BW3 yet, but I like Pluckers. Their Fire in the Hole wings are hot, but don't like the taste. I prefer their honey BBQ. The Honey BBQ burger is also excellent. The place up at 1325 and I-35 (wing stop or wing zone) has a hawaiian BBQ that is pretty good.
