What do y'all think was the best Astro's slogan? They have a new one every year. My favorite was "Who says it's only a game?" MY least favorite: "Let's raise the roof right off the Dome!" Any others come to mind?
Young Guns of the West (with a great Biggio/Bagwell/Cammy poster) Houston's Brand of Baseball <-- my personal favorite Celebrate Good Times Root for the Good Guys <-- my least favorite Big City Baseball
Who Says It's Only a Game was used more than one year, I believe. Like Root for the Good Guys was. I had a friend who used to sing the Who Says It's Only a Game song by changing the lyrics to Thank God It's Only a Game. "Why do they always hit the wall? Why can they never hit the ball? Who says it's only a game??? ASTROS!!" Raise the Roof
No, but I know they coupled it with all those comic-book caricatures of the guys on the team as part of the whole marketing scheme.
I remember hearing John and Lance talking about 2005 slogans on the radio a few weeks ago, and Lance came up with one that I absolutely laughed my ass off at. He said the slogan last year was "It's our turn" or something to that effect, and the 2005 version is "It's still our turn. No cuts!"
What was that tune they played on the pathetic Dome speakers way back in the rainbow uniform days. Something about the Astros breathing orange fire.
I remember it, but I couldn't find the lyrics posted online, other than this snippet: Here come the Astros burning with desire, Here come the Astros breathing orange fire, Here come the Astros with winning on their mind, Here comes the Astros number one every time.
