I know we all have personal favorites when it comes to best moments in Astros history, so I thought I would start a thread about the best moments of this year. This year has had some great moments. I know it hard to think of these moments as individual moments, but taking the whole game into perspective, my top five would have to be in order:

    1) Bruntlett's game winning hit against the Cardinals (great game!!)
    2) Lidge striking out Beltran to win the game
    3) Biggio's blast last night
    4) Bruntlett's catch and throw to get a double play in Arizona
    5) Ensberg's three run jack to beat the Blue Jays

    Go Stros!!!!

Some more to add to the list:

Bruntlett's 3 run HR to win the marathon game against the Nats.

Biggio and Berkman go deep with back to back HR's... in back to back AB's... in back to back innings against the Phillies.

Lamb's walkoff HR against the Phillies.

I dont think it too early for this thread, we all aware that there is still a TON of work left to be done for the astros, and I personally take nothing for granted. however, being where this team was and how bleak the summer looked for us fans at the beginning, i just thought it would be cool to talk about some of the great moments of this summer. This team has provided us with some super exciting moments and I hope that they just continue to do that. Maybe we can re-name the thread to Best Astros moments of 2005 so far......

at the beginning of the season it was doom and gloom. lucky to finish 3rd in the division...many had us picked behind the Reds. not enough to compete.

right now we stand 11 games over .500. we're in the lead for the wild card in early/mid September. they've been competitive. some will remain doom and gloom. that's fine. it's too much fun.

    go 'stros!

You have to put the way Bruntelett stole both those bases to get us the win the game before yesterday's game.

One of my favorite moments this year, beyond that listed above, was Lamb's Jack off (oops) of Prior! Grand Salami on May 1st. Just Awesome! I was at that game and in my most professional speak, he knocked the p!ss out of that ball.

One of my favorite moments was the last game before the Allstar game. We were playing the Padres IIRC, and to end the game (we were on our hot streak having an incredible July) a Padres batter hit a hard ball off of Oswalt in the top of the 9nth which hit the wall. He tried to make it a double but a beutiful throw by taveras and catch and tag by Biggio got him out. It was a perfect finish to head into the Allstar game. It capped off our month of July.

definitely agree with another poster with lidge striking out beltran

but I'd go even further, saying the ENTIRE 4 game series with the mets was the best moment of 2005.

just winning 3 out of 4 and actually going to one of those games and booing beltran out of the ****ing stadium, god damn that felt good.

I think we should update this thread, we have to include Bagwell's game winning hit and yesterday's clinching victory. Any one else have any they would like to add?

    Its a tie for me:

Bagwell coming off the bench to win the game and Bidge's blast off Wagner.

    Best moments:

Biggio's game winning HR against Wagner.

Ensberg's HR immediately after that brushback pitch to the head.

The extra inning victory against the Cardinals at Minute Maid, Ausmus, Ensberg, and Bruntlett coming up huge.

    Funny happenings:

Lane flipping the ball to the fans in the stand when there was only 2 outs.

Berkman thinking there was 3 outs and running off the field, and then having to fake a knee injury when he realized there was only 2 outs.

Yep, Mogans game winner, and Lambs are also up there with me. But I think the most emotionaly felt moment for me was the Baggy RBI single in his first at bat. That was huge. (plus I'm a HUGE baggy fan)
