Two hundred jobs ranked from "best" to "worst". It's subjective, of course, but from what they believe, mathematics majors may have reason to be happy. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123119236117055127.html Full list : http://www.careercast.com/jobs/content/JobsRated_Top200Jobs ** EDIT ** : Critera/methodology for rankings : http://www.careercast.com/jobs/content/JobsRated_Methodology
Wow...wtf, I'm ranked at 182. Guess I shoulda been a brick layer, it doesn't save lives but it's ranked higher! lol.
I've got nothing but respect for your job. I know I sure as hell couldn't do it. (Insert "salute" emoticon here) *EDIT* : http://www.careercast.com/jobs/content/JobsRated_Methodology Look at the methodology/criteria... that's probably why you ranked lower.
Started out wanting to be a #7 but ended up a #181, which is also the most stressful but #3 on the Most Satisfying list.
Philosopher is #12? What is this 500 BC? The only people I hate more than crappy cops are philosophers.
I'm currently working as #21, but the job I describe myself as isn't on the list. Still, was anyone else surprised by this? I suppose that takes into account many <s>waiters</s> unemployed actors.
I bet the average salary for an actor is low. You have to consider roles in small plays, commercials, extras on tv shows, etc...
I'm #10. I can't see myself doing anything in the top 9, so I guess I have the number 1 job according to me.
Question. Where did you go to school? I'm looking into taking classes in physics or astronomy, but would like to go somewhere near or in Houston. Sorry to get off topic, just curious.
I was an undergraduate student at the University of Arizona. Unfortunately, I don't really know anything about the quality of teaching in physics/astronomy at Houston area schools.
