I was recently thinking about my favorite albums of the 1970s: 1) AC/DC Highway to Hell 2) KISS KISS 3) KISS Alive! 4) Queen A Night at the Opera 5) Cheap Trick In Color 6) Queen News of the World 7) Cheap Trick Heaven Tonight 8) Van Halen II 9) Queen Sheer Heart Attack 10) Van Halen Van Halen That was pretty tough. I really didn't start getting into music until the 80s, so most of this stuff I had to discover after the fact. Most of the stuff I listen to now probably owes a lot to these albums though.

Yes, the seventies were the golden era of both soft rock and disco, however, there was some pretty great music, too. I personally think some of the Rolling Stones' best work was in the early 70s'. Joni Mitchell's "Court and Spark" from 1974 is one of my all time favorites. And anything Steely Dan did was fantastic. I also have to admit that Journey's "Escape" is one of my musical guilty pleasures. ------------------

Doh!!! Too many years and beers. Excellent list freak! Makes me want to pull out my vinyl. You young guns know what that is. Huh? Right! Speaking of which, I've got about 1200 albums on vinyl. Who can beat me? ------------------ 'Deeds, not words, shall speak me.' [This message has been edited by mc mark (edited January 30, 2001).]
mc mark -- that's awesome that you have so many albums. Nowadays people look at you funny if you tell them you have more than a couple o hundred CDs. Why do you think that is? I think it might come down to there being more things to do nowadays as far as entertainment than listening to music (probably why nobody goes to concerts anymore). What do you think? I myself have around 700 CDs.
freak, i have several 100 cds, do you use any sort of Database to keep a record of anything??? Smeg ------------------ CUT Tino These Heaves are just getting Ridiculous!
Whats really sad freak is that when I was poor in school, I proly sold about half my collection. As far as CDs, I started late on collecting. I was a snob for many years thinking, "it can't be better than vinyl". Very sad I know what you mean about collecting. I've always done it. I don't know (well actually I do). I guess that music has always been a HUGH part of my life. I could live without TV. But no way music. I guess it all comes from living in Europe between the ages of 5 and 11. We just never had TV. We had radio and live shows! As far as other entertainment. Can there be nothing better than music? Don't get me wrong, I love to get out and do things. But a lot of times, that going out and doing things usually involves music. what can I say? I'm a freak! no wait a minute....you are... ------------------ 'Deeds, not words, shall speak me.'
