i bought a sixer of christmas ale yesterday so i guess its about that time. jimi hendrix - valleys of neptune - my favorite new album was recorded 40 years ago. im a big fan of hendrix bootlegs and live stuff - like zeppelin, he never played a song the same way twice - and his soloing on this one is some of his most focused, strongest and creative ive heard from him. wavves - king of the beach - i love all these california kids bringing back shoegaze as it was originally intended (the beach boys aesthetic w/ fuzzy guitars and punk energy) best coast - crazy for you white denim - last day of summer - saw these dudes last night and they f***in' killed - BEST BAND IN AUSTIN RIGHT NOW!!! arcade fire - the suburbs burzum - belus - after 17 years in prison for murder and arson, count grishnackt returns w/ more evil black metal!!! sufjan stevens - new one w/ weird name - ive only heard it once, but its really good and will probably climb higher on my list w/ a few more listens.
does lcd soundsyatem just get a pass or something? because this is happening is terrible save for 1 or 2 tracks.
It's only October, but... Arcade Fire - The Suburbs LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening MGMT - Congratulations Flying Lotus - Cosmogramma
yea, I realize its october, but nobody releases anything in november/december except greatest hits and country christmas junk. also. LLcoolPlay is full of win. Thats how Im going to sign off from now on. LLcoolPlayy
It is only October but if you think about the cycle of music release anything that could be considered for best of the year is already out; two main release times for music, March for SXSW and then around September for back to school and the start of the NFL season. That being said it would be hard to top Exit Calm's self titled debut LP that just came out in the US this week. They're from England and I would say are the future of "shoe-gaze" type music, these guys are coming to town in March to Fitz, maybe....
thats kind of how i feel about all their albums - each one has 3 or so songs i can listen to over and over again and the rest i is kind of filler (imo). i tell you waht, i cant wait for that kenny chesney christmas album! Spoiler HE IS THE BEACH COWBOY!
so far.... Die Antwoord - $o$ Arcade Fire - Suburbs Black Keys - Brothers LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening Shakira - Sale el Sol
