I just finished watching the Atlanta Hawks vs Orlando Magic first quarter and let me tell 'ya - it was the best 'pre-season' 1st quarter of basketball I've seen this pre-season.

I'm watching on-line, don't have League Pass, so viewing has been a bit limited, but the Orlando Magic look amazing! I want to see the Magic represent the Eastern Conference in the Finals. I love to watch them play. I know most have predicted them to finish third in the East, but I love their versatility & athleticism.

I think their bench is great, but I also think Boston's bench is better. However, I like Orlando's starting 5 better than Boston's.

So, what has been your favorite 1st quarter of basketball this pre-season? Also, what do you have to say about the top 3 in the East?

yeah Ryan Andersen was just a great pick up, he fits in perfectly. bass, barnes are decent pick ups and of course carter.

I still think they made a huge mistake letting go of courtney lee. he was coming in to his own, and was quickly gaining confidence in his offensive game, especially the three ball.

vc's day has passed, and he's all about personal stats. sure, he brings star power, but he'll end up causing issues down the road for orlando. he has to get his shots, and he has proven to be an inefficient scorer over the past couple of years

but, props on the bass signing. he's a beast in the paint

Vince Carter is a lot better than Hedo Turkoglu. They've added depth and with Jameer healthy, they are better than last year.

I actually think Orlando has the best bench in the NBA. Better than Boston

Love Ryan Anderson. He was the high scorer for the 1stQt & Half. He is a bit more agressive & a bit thicker than our Andersen.

White Chocolate Looks great in the back-up PG role. And Bass Looks amazing! Dwight scored 5 @ the half, VC w/19. Lookout for Orlando!

I think this was very obvious when they signed Carter. I was shocked how many questioned that. Not only did the Magic get a better player, but SG was their worst position, which VC solves completely. When you consider they added Brandon Bass and kept Gortat (at least for now), to me it adds up to the Magic being the best in the East. IMO, only injuries will stop them from the Finals.

Orlando might be the most stacked team in the league, even more so than LA and Boston. If a team has chance for 70 wins, it is the Magic considering that they are in the East against inferior opponents.

    Dwight Howard - C
    Ryan Anderson - PF
    Mickael Pietrus - SF
    Vince Carter - SG
    Jameer Nelson - PG
    --------------------------------
    Marcin Gortat - C
    Brandon Bass - PF
    Matt Barnes - SG/SF
    J.J. Reddick -SG/SF
    Jason Williams - PG

    Cheers to the Amway team

I meant to put Rashard Lewis at Small Forward (starting).

    Dwight Howard
    Ryan Anderson
    Rashard Lewis
    Vince Carter
    Jameer Nelson

The Nets gave up too much to get rid of Carter. With them drafting Terrance Williams and drafting Douglas Roberts last year they didn't really need Lee. Looking at thier roster, Anderson would of been helped them more with Brook Lopez in there. Now they have a glut of shooting guards.
