Boston guy? He's been there for exactly one year..

I'd like the Frank hire. I'm good with either Frank or Casey -- McHale is a distant third in my mind.

ok, i don't know if i am the first one or only one who shows no confidence on frank. it seems ppl think he is good at defense but i don't buy it. i am an old school. defense wins champs. i have always been one on this board who questioned ra's defense. i am extremely happy ra was let go. frank is another i don't have confidence on his defense mentality.

He's not bad at defense, I just don't like the way he looks to be honest. I feel like we're hiring E from Entourage.

What kind of coach are they looking for exactly? A championship coach, rookie trainer coach... or a tanking coach?

It wasn't RA's defense it was the teams lack of good defenders. We didn't have enough height around the rim. RA was a good coach just didn't have all the right pieces to work with. Can't 'coach up' a bunch of undersized, mostly non-athletic guys and expect to be top 5 in D. Gotta set realistic expectations with what you have to work with.

So if Frank comes in, AND we improve the talent we will be alright.

do you know old shool also has another thing to say? defense is all about effort. whether you believe it or not is not the topic here. just swallow what old shool says and take it.

I second the Frank hiring! I'm as excited as i can be after letting a HOF coach who the players loved walk.

    that's thing i don't buy it.

i have been sad and am still sad we let tt free. we could have a great coach who is now leading bulls to play stingy defense. that is what i want to see from rox, playing suffocating defense.

McHale and Casey are also going to get second interviews. We are just waiting for Casey to be done in the playoffs.

I think Feigan said they were gonna do 2nd interviews with all 3 of the "finalists," I think Frank just happened to be the one interviewed Monday. The others will get their time.

Frank is the one with the more free time on his hands now that the Celtics are out. Casey's team is still playing and McHale is still working for TNT.

All about effort huh? Chuck Hayes puts forth more effort than anybody, but only being 6'5 he has his limitations on defense against guys that are 6'9 and athletic. Don't matter how hard you try sometimes when you are at a big disadvantage height wise.

Chuck made a fantastic effort and We do need size but team was HORRIBLE with defensive rotations. Tons of mistakes that left people wide open under the basket and definitely not enough effort by Budinger, Scola and Martin on the defensive side of the ball. A Defensive coach will change those habits.

Frank would be OK if we are rebuilding. However, he is not that great a coach IMO.

he is not the problem on our defense. some of our players on court didn't commit and didn't put strong efforts on defense end. i am not talking about one on one defense. it's all about team defense. you're talking about individual defense. individual defense is good but won't solve the whole issue especially when you face those great players. it's tough to shut down them by yourself but great team will do the job.

    Rep'd.

Put RA in charge of the current Chicago Bulls and you would see a more potent offensive team and definitely not the suffocating defense that you are witnessing. Not sure if that would be a good thing.

Chicago's defensive rotations are nearly flawless and this is a direct reflection on their coach.
