http://www.jsonline.com/sports/brew/apr05/320122.asp On the mend, Houston edition: Astros outfielder Lance Berkman, coming back from off-season knee surgery, took part in the pregame workout and could be activated in time for a weekend series against St. Louis. "So far, so good," Astros general manager Tim Purpura said. "He felt confident out there." The Astros were toying with the idea of having Berkman serve a rehabilitation assignment with Class AA Round Rock. After watching him go through his paces on Wednesday, that seems unlikely. "We'll see how he feels and the likely course is that he'll come with the club to St. Louis," Purpura said.
There is now way he comes back this weekend, he hasn't faced live pitching since October. He has to have a minor league rehab assignment for a leat a week. If Tim, activates him, he shows he knows nothing.
When did that happen? I never heard about it, but then again it is minor league news. Not your top CNN story of the day.
Last season was New Orleans' last year as the Astros' AAA minor league affiliate. Nolan Ryan had been planning on RR taking over the AAA spot for the Astros for a while.
