Ive heard rumblings from a friend who is a scout with the NFL that Jonathan Joseph and Wade Phillips have been working with Brandon Harris to serve as a stand by if Kareem does not pan out. I for one dont trust Jackson...very good man to man corner but not effective in the zone coverage at all. Nick Saban and his staff teach a lot of man to man lockdown coverage, I will say some credit goes to Wade for turning Jackson into a ok man cover CB in the pros, last year he did solid in that area with the exception of defending Reggie Wayne in the colts game, height difference. We shall see...

Sorry, I saw no improvement in Jackson's covering ability last season...he had a better year because the front 7 was able to get after it. His coverage skills still suck and we need to get some help in that department.

Who would you have signed? Name the player, any player, and then I could tell you that we wouldnt have the cap money for that player.

Lol I wasn't being sarcastic or poking fun of Texans Fo. That was legitimate and honest question. Lmao. I have paying attention to the NBA trade deadline, so I was wondering if we signed anyone else.

Once the market dies I wonder if we can get Aaron Ross on the cheap. Maybe a 2 yr deal.

mmm, we signed the best RB in the free agency if not the best RB in the NFL:

    Arian Foster.

Being an Oklahoma Sooner...the only RB in the league that gives Foster a run for his money as King of the RB's in the NFL is Adrian Peterson. AP is a more physical RB and just as fast if not faster than Foster...the edge and where Foster wins is his receiving ability. I would give both RB's an A+... #1 and #1A lol...since im a Texan and the receiving ability I would give the very very slight edge to Foster.

Great move by the Texans! Their secondary just got a little better.

The average CB is about 5'11". Harris is 5'10" as is Carmichael as is Kareem Jackson. Brice McCain is 5'9". Joseph is 5'11". Allen was 6'1"

I'd still rather see Allen out there than Kareem.

They both made me throw the remote the same number of times. Although Allen did get more picks if I remember correctly. Allen was the too much cushion guy, and Kareem was the never turn around guy.

I hope he doesn't start. Please.

I though Allen just covered better. Aside from the INT's, he'd also deflect a lot more passed than Kareem would. If the ball was thrown Kareem's way, all he was good for was making the tackle after the catch. Kareem did get his hand on a few balls this year but it seemed like Allen did it more consistently.

EDIT: I looked it up. Allen had 11 passes defensed, Kareem had 6. Joseph had 15 and surprisingly McCain had 13. I've heard Barry Warner talk up McCain as the best cover corner on the roster. Maybe he'll push Kareem for playing time. Not so much last year, but two years ago he looked bad. I guess we'll see how much he's improved.
