Did anyone see the collision? Man it was pretty Bad and Cameron had to leave the field on a stretcher. Basically both Beltran and Cameron Dove head first for a ball inbetween them. They collided head to head basically while fully extended in the dive....pretty scary stuff.

That didn't look good at all. Hope they're okay.

Not that it's relevant at all, but Cameron should be playing in center.

Ouch! I'm as bitter as anyone about how Beltran treated the Astros, but I doubt anyone would wish such an injury on him. Hope they recover soon.

Cliff Floyd also got hit in the knee with a pitch and was rolling around in pain. Bad day to be a Mets OFer.

Beltran was able to walk off and they took him out of the game with shoulder pains. Cameron they said was alert and talking in the hospital which was a good sign.

Unfortunately, this is what happens if you have two gold-glove calibur CFers playing the outfield. They know how to dive for the ball... they do it with the best of them... and its natural instinct for them to do so.

There was nothing that could have been done... neither player was going to hear the other "calling him off", and it was a play that had to be attempted to be made.

Sometimes, I wonder if the baseball gods just continue to punish the Mets year after year because of the way the 1986 team carried itself... it wouldn't suprise me if they went on a Boston Red Sox type run of futility for the next century.

Mike Cameron has a broken nose, multiple fractures of both cheekbones and a slight concussion as a result of his collision with Carlos Beltran today. He probley miss at least 4-6 weeks and maybe the whole season.

Ouch, that reminds me of what someone said about the SF Giants in the mid 90's with Deion Sanders and Barry Bonds. This would've never happened to them because Barry dosen't hustle and Deion hates contact. :)

I hate Carlos as much as the next Astros fan, but if you're CHEERING about this then you need to seriously take a look at the priorities in your life. These guys could have easily been killed... and what you have here are two tremendous athletes trying their asses off to make a great play, and they get hurt. If you cheer that then you should be ashamed of yourselves... I'm sure as crap ashamed to be fans with the same team as you.
