do you any of you own a bell & ross watch? if you do how do you like it or what have your heard about them? the particular one i am looking at is the Space 3 GMT.
Depends how much you're looking to spend. I LOVE watches and could make some suggestions based on what style and what price range you're looking at.
i am looking mostly at chronograph watches. been looking for a replacement for my Tag F1 Chronograph. i definately do no want to break the bank so i am trying to stay under 2Gs. i had my eyes on the Omega Seamaster America's Cup but went and looked at it a couple months later and i am glad i didnt buy it. most chronographs are so busy when you look at them but this bell & ross is simple and looks nice at the same time.
I had a Tag, but lost it in college in Cancun! But i really don't like the strong diver look anymore. I prefer Cartier or more traditional designs. Last year I bought the new Bvlgari Aluminum Series Automatic. Its rubber/aluminum and is very cool yet quiet. It retailed around $2 G's, but I negotiated it for $1400. I like the Tag Heuer Monaco series. The large square chronograph's are nice.
I'm really into nice watches ~ Bell & Ross is very stylish, but if I were to choose I would go with the Omega Seamaster. My personal favorite is the Rolex Submariner I really like the low-key style and bulletproof construction. I’m not fond of most chronographs, but there are a few that pull off the look without an overdone face. If you are looking to spend $500- $1000 Seiko and Tag have some excellent watches ~ the Seiko titanium divers is an incredible deal for around $600.
I got a Seiko that's waterproof... bought it a few years ago when Service Merchandise was going bye-bye. A $200 watch... I think I got it for about $35-$45 or something. I like my watch, it's great.
Can someone explain to me the logic behind spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on a watch? Don't they all do the same thing? I can understand spending my money on nice computers, monitors, big screen tvs, surround sound home theater systems, because there are different levels of sizes and quality (better sound, better picture, bigger size)... but how does this relate to spending more money on a watch? are there better ways to tell time? and no, I stopped wearing watches in 7th grade, after my calculator watch died.
There is just something about the feel of a really high quality watch ~ the precision movement, the solid heavy weight, and the fact that when I backhand a fool he knows i'm rich... J/k
The timing of the watch and it's ability to not loose time is one of the biggest factors other than the obvious platinum, gold, diamonds etc. Just how well they make the time piece that actually keeps time is one of the biggest factors. You can buy a cheap watch and let it go comparing it to a digital watch and you can see after a while it really goes off time and a really good watch won't do that. Also a lot of people believe watches are a good investment and hold their value well. So you can sell them later.
Just like me... i have a watch and hardly use it cuase i am so used to looking at my cell phone. When i was out of the country i didn't have my phone and it was the wierdest feeling not having a watch or phone to look at for the time.
