    Couple of things I noticed:

    1) When Cuttino first shook hands with Yao, he did the whole chest bump thing, and Yao kept doing it back to him and Steve from then on...hehe, kinda funny

    2) When Yao walks in the locker room and talks to MoT, you can hear MoT say "WE definitely got Bigger!"

    3) Yao sits down in his locker room chair and is like..."what do I do now"

I don't want to overanalyze everything, but Francis gives him a pat on the back as he's leaving so Yao gives him a nudge back....:D

Awesome! My favorite one so far is when Steve and Yao are smiling and greeting and Steve says something about the lottery drawing like,"I did it for you. If it wasn't for me you wouldn't be here." Then they laugh about it. Good to see the interaction after all the speculation that went on here.

I thought the same thing. Just like anybody's mom! :)

When he sits down in front of his locker and lets out that deep breath, it's like, "Holy Christmas! Can I just get in a freakin' uni and play now!??!"

    :D

He definitely looked a little nervous... it just goes to remind you how much change there's going to be for him in the first few weeks.

Steve and Yao look kind of confused in the welcoming party video.
They are both like "uh......hey." I don't think Stevie realizes how much english Yao knows because as he was walking away he told the translator to tell Yao "good luck."

It should be fun watching Yao mesh together with Steve and Cat. I have a feeling we are going to see some funny stuff this year.

Yao's translator may look girly, but he's awesome. The guy speaks and writes fluent Chinese and he's 100% American. English is his first language. I gotta give him props for that.

Only if Rockets preseason games were on LP, I'd be happy :(

There is no doubt that this translator is qualified, but he has to be the whitest white guy that I have ever seen. Who are they going to get to translate what Steve and Cat are saying to Yao's translator. They should of got a brother for Yao's translator.:D
Pretty soon Yao would be doing chest bumps with ease!!!

I like how when Yao sat down in his chair, he was still eye-level with his translator. :D

His Mandarin is decent, from what I heard in the video. But you can tell from the accent that he is not a native Mandarin speaker. I hope he'll react fast enough in practice so Ming won't miss anything important.

I've done a fair amount of interpretation. I know it's a lot harder to translate you native language into a second language than the other way around.
