A seven-year-old boy was at the center of a courtroom drama today when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained to the degree possible. The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him. After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him. After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Houston Texans, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
I got an e-mail with that story today....but he requested custody to be granted by the OU Sooners. Good one!
i was saddened by this and i don't think it should be joked about-child abuse-that is. i admit, it was kinda funny...but still...some people are sensitive to issues like this. just be considerate, that's all i'm asking.
All I'm asking is keep posting things that are genuinely funny. Don't give in to the mindless pressure of political correctness--don't try to tread the paper-thin trail they've left between all the eggshells. *Everything* offends *somebody*.
"What'd you hit me for?" "Shutup and get out there and mow the lawn for Christs sake!" There's therapy for ya! Mowing the lawn and crying at the same time. "The Leary kids in therapy again. Their lawn looks great, it's unbelieveable!"
