I'm gonna put this out there, and hopefully positive comments will follow... I took part in a Beastie Boys concert DVD that ended up getting picked up by ThinkFilm International... The premise was this- the Beastie Boys handed out 50 cameras at a sold out concert at Madison Square Garden in October of 2004, and told us to film the concert from our seats... the only rule was that the cameras had to keep rolling from beginning to end... Adam Yauch, MCA of the Beastie Boys, under his pseudonym Nathanial Hornblower, spent the next 14 months editing the footage into a frenetic, visually stimulating final cut, entitled, get this, "Awesome: I F*@kin Shot That"... The concert documentary received its world premiere at Sundance to rave reviews and is headed to SXSW in Austin on March 15... then there will be a one-night screening on March 23rd nationwide. here is a list of theaters participating inthe one-night event... www.awesomeishotthat.com/march23 the movie will screen in Houston, Dallas, Austin, Amarillo, and all over the country that night, then play in NY and L.A. starting on the 31st... if you like the band, then you will love the movie... its basically like being in the Garden the night of the show... also, film and editing students will be impressed by the postproduction effort that went into this thing... there are over 6000 cuts at an average of 75 cuts a minute.... I hope some of you go out and catch this while it is in your town!!! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0488953/ you can view the trailer here http://www.oscilloscope.net/trailer/trailer.html
