over in Florida. They have some nice beaches. It's not Galveston close, but it's real nice. Your only other option is Freeport I think, which is down 288.
Galveston has three different types of beaches. West end is quieter and more upscale. The seawall has the bulk of the tourists. And the East end is a little younger crowd, you can drive and drink on the beach as well. Then there's surfside, which I would avoid for sightseeing. It's the best surf in the area, though. And finally, if you go across the ferry between Galveston and Bolivar peninsula, you get Crystal beach, which is crazy on holiday weekends (think redneck girls gone wild).
I was hoping this was a thread for the Bette Midler movie...."you are the wind beneath my wings....."
according to a beach patrol person I spoke to on Padre, you're going to get seaweed and jellyfish all along the gulf coast between March and Late August. That's just what I was told - take it for what it's worth.
"Blossom" had a good part as young CC... All right... I'll admit it... it was a great movie, and Spoiler I cried when I learned CC had died ...
