their mid-year awards dealie thing Carl gets the nod for 6th man Adelman is #3 on their list for COY here is the link for the rest of the article pretty good writeup from Kelly Dwyer link
Kelly does a great job at BDL and this is no exception. Ron Artest #3 in Defensive Player of the Year. That hurts.
As much love as he gets, he will not get the award. Jamal Crawford has been having too many clutch moments and games where he has lead the Hawks for the award to go to a 2nd rounder like Landry (not my opinion but I think this is how all the jerks around the league will feel)
Remember a couple of weeks into the season when everybody, even on the LA side, thought we got the better of the two? yeaaaaaaa.
It was funny when it said under Adelman's discription..."Name their seventh man. Name him" I was like LOWRY!!!! --RB
Its very close between Crawford and Landry, IMO. [rquoter]3. Rick Adelman, Houston Rockets Name their seventh man. Name him.[/rquoter] Kyle Lowry  Let me add that I'm very disappointed that neither Landry, nor Brooks was listed in Most Improved.
Just remember that part of the thinking was Ron Artest was a higher risk giving him 5 years. People are surprised Ariza hasn't been better, but its no surprise that Artest would win year 1.
Last two games, Landry's +/- has been -6 and -9. Anyone else notice that in Lowry's absence, the second unit has been pretty ineffective? Perhaps Lowry should get some more credit as a leading 6th man. Code: Lowry, Landry min pace off def net neither on floor 840 92 105.6 104.8 +0.9 Lowry, no Landry 213 95 104.2 103.1 +1.2 no Lowry, Landry 351 92 107.1 118.7 -11.6 both on floor 935 93 109.5 105.5 +4.0
What Jamal Crawford is not only the sixth an of the year he is better than joe johnson and live in atlanta and get to watch them every night landry is good on a bad team. But Crawford is the best player on a really good team
what ever happened to the flow chart thing that someone made in google docs.. I can't find the thread... has it been updated. I'd be curious to see the numbers after our 'decline' in the month of January.
Great list, overall. I can't really speak about Varejao because I don't watch Cavs games very often so I'll take Kelly's word. I think a stat that can't be stressed enough is Carl Landry being second in the league in 4th quarter points to Lebron. That's damn impressive.
