Man, I love chaos in the BCS so that it forces colleges closer to a Division 1 playoff. Here is what I want to have happen. Texas goes undefeated to get there. Alabama loses to Auburn Florida loses to Bama Putting Texas vs TCU into the National Championship game. What scenario do you guys want to see? DD
I would love for a Texas TCU national title game but honestly nothing would give me more pleasure then seeing the Horns end the media's love affair with Tebow and his devinity.
I can't for the life of me rationalize UT fans complaining about media bias. I guess it's true what they say. Fish don't know he's wet.
Oh no don't get me wrong not a UT fan just a college football fan but it drives me nuts when Tebow goes wacky on the sideines or in the lockeroom and CBS/ESPN go wild over the guy. Seeing a Texas team beat him on the biggest stage would be AWESOME and just don't think TCU could do it, so Texas gets my vote.
This wouldn't create chaos - if anything, it would let the BCS say how well it works. You'd have #1 vs #2, both undefeated, not much real argument from anyone else (maybe Cinci). And the BCS could show how the non-BCS conferences are part of the system and have an opportunity at the national title. If you really want controversy, you'd want a 1-loss Florida or Alabama in the national title game beating an undefeated Texas, and TCU, Boise, and Cini all defeating good teams in other BCS games, leaving a 1-loss team as national champion while there are 3 undefeateds with big bowl wins. I always like playing games against the most recognized / big name teams, so I'd rather just see Texas vs. Florida.
I want to see the best two teams, so Texas-Florida for me. Not sure why you guys hate Tebow so much. He's pretty damn good. He and the Gators get a lot of attention, but they deserve it. They play in a tough conference and they beat the crap out of people. The media is all over them, but its not Dick Vitale & Duke status. Give him and the Gators some credit.
would hate a TCU v Boise st. game. I want the non BCS conference teams to play the BCS conference teams. It would be a total cop out if they were pitted against on another. No one should want to see that, I want the potential of another fiesta bowl classic.
How the hell does that force a playoff system? Sounds more like 'force a favorable BCS game for my favorite team'. (No offense TCU fans).
Anyone who is truly in favor of blowing up the BCS would want a Cincinatti/Boise State Championship game. With TCU next in line. Didnt they do this before? With those "arrogant" USC guys and biased nob slobbing media all over Loverboy Leinart and Reggie Legend, having the wiley Texas country boys pile into the back of the wagon and go into their house and stop USC from making history, along with bringing silence to all the hype? While totally ignoring the fact UT had as good a recruiting class and pool of talent as anyone the past decade? Though I myself wouldnt mind seeing Timmy Deity get his halo yanked off.
I actually wouldn't mind seeing TCU in there, really at the expense of Alabama, Florida, or Texas. But I expect to see Texas vs. Alabama. Plus 1 is coming...I used to think an 8-team or 16-team playoff would be best. But realistically since the BCS began, how many times has there been a debate about the top-4 teams? No need to go beyond that. (If a 4-team (+1) playoff were instituted this year, TCU would still have an opportunity for the title (loser of the conference championship is eliminated from selection in "Final Four"). Who would that leave? Boise and Cincinnati. Check back in a couple of weeks and we'll see when Cincinnati loses. That would leave: 1. Texas 2. Alabama/Florida 3. TCU 4. Boise That's fair ("but what about Pitt or Georgia Tech?" Well, win your games).
If this happens, it would be Texas against Cincinnati, unless you also have Cincy losing to Pitt. Cincy is only a hair behind TCU as is - if you add in a Cincy win on the road against a top 10 team, and it won't even be close. I'd love a Texas/TCU title game too, but won't happen without your scenario and the Cincy loss.
