Well, now that every other BCS game has been finalized, we can move on to talking about the main event: The BCS National Championship.

    My prediction:

Texas would give a better game, look at last night, they were flat as a fritter and still won.

My prediction is that OU rolls, 52-31. As a fan, I hope I'm wrong and I think I'm cheering for Florida, though the SEC nonsense is making me second-guess a little bit... we'll see.

I am going to have to be rooting for OU in a squeaker.

I agree, though every B12 team (except Kansas) has underperformed thus far in their bowls this year, so I'm not as convinced as I was a few weeks ago.

I tend to agree. I wanted to play Texas more because I think their defense is of a higher caliber than Oklahoma.

After watching the inter-conference matchups in the bowl games, two things stand out to me:

    If UF can:

    1) get pressure on Bradford,
    2) get the run game going,

then they should be able to win comfortably. Those are the two weaknesses that I have seen across the board for the elite Big 12 teams by virtue of their conference. They aren't used to playing teams with strong pass rushes or strong run games (I'd say Texas has by far the best pass rush in the Big 12, and Oklahoma probably has the best run game), and they look to be susceptible to both. Of course, this is easier said than done, especially with the monster o-line that Oklahoma has - and UF's weakest spot on D is definitely their d-line.

A huge X-factor for UF is also their return game. Oklahoma has poor kick coverage and they aren't used to punting, whereas UF has one of the best kick returners in the country.

What scares me from OU is:
    1) Jermaine Gresham - dude is a beast. I don't think UF has anyone who can match up with him.
    2) UF DBs vs OU WRs: Our DBs have been amazing this year, but there also aren't any passing attacks in the SEC that are of the caliber of the Big 12 (with UF being the exception). If Bradford can get time in the pocket, I fear for our DBs.

SEC nonsense? You mean that the SEC thinks it is the best conference over the Big 12?

What's the over under on number of catches made by Gresham after deflections?

For this year, yes. The SEC is typically a great league, and I think Florida is a very good team this year, but from top to bottom, the SEC isn't nearly as strong as it has been in the past. (Yes, I know Ole Miss beat Texas Tech, but the best player in the nation hopping around on one leg had a lot to do with that.)

I agree wholeheartedly with the SEC being down this year relative to past years, but I'd also say that as of right now, it is arguable which conference is better.

Deflected by other players, or deflected by Gresham to himself? Because I've seen him do both numerous times this season. That kid is like the football equivalent of Moses Malone tipping rebounds to himself.

Big 12 isn't up to par. Told you guys it was overrated. Florida will win. I just hope Stoops gives a decent fight. Oh and hopefully they change his name from "Big Game Stoops" to something more appropriate.

"Jim Tressell Stoops", thats about right.

But if they played like that against Florida, they would have been rolled over. This year though is the best argument for a playoff. If I had a vote, I would say Utah deserves the National Championship. There will be four teams with a legitimate claim for being the National Champ, and I expect them all to receive AP votes. Texas needed to blow out Ohio State though to have any chance of actually getting the AP National Title.

Umm, what? The Big 12 is 4-2 in bowl games; the SEC is 5-2 in bowl games. The only difference is that the SEC had one extra bowl-eligible club. Since when is going 4-2, 5-2 with a win Thursday, proof that a league is overrated? That's a damn good bowl season.

Probably because public perception is that the Big 12 power teams have underperformed in their bowls relative to expectations. If Oklahoma loses on Thursday, then 3 of the top 4 Big 12 teams will have lost their bowl games, with the lone win coming in the closing 20 seconds against an OSU team that was lauded as another overrated Big 10 team throughout the 2nd half of the season. Just sayin'.

The Big 12 power teams are Texas and Oklahoma. Anyone who considers Oklahoma State or Texas Tech anywhere close to that level simply hasn't looked at the entire body of work of those clubs. They've lost their games, but it's no more relevant than the fact that Missouri, Nebraska and Kansas won their games.

    Ole Miss beat TT
UT explosive offense put up 24? I forget what it was...
Big 12 is nowhere near as good as what everyone thought. And I think Texas is better than OU.

    Leach is crippling the conference
