Obviously without the resources of a major magazine, we as individuals are going to miss some songs that certain esteemed publications would never leave out.

    :)rolleyes: )

Maybe we can help each other out.

    My top 10:
    1.) No Rain (Blind Melon)
    2.) Wind Up (Foo Fighters)
    3.) Doin' Time (Sublime)
4.) Say It Ain't So (Weezer)
    5.) Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve)
    6.) Even Flow (Pearl Jam)
7.) Stay (Lisa Loeb) - **** you guys, I love this song.
    8.) In The Meatime (Spacehog)
9.) When I Come Around (Green Day)
10.) Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana) - I don't even like this song all that much, but really it's got to be on here, right?

I am going to pick and do the #1 and #2 best songs for my top 5 (IMO of course before the purists reign down hellfire on my arse.)

1.) Sublime - Santeria / Caress Me Down
2.) Red Hot Chili Peppers - Under The Bridge / Otherside
3.) Foo Fighters - Wind Up / My Poor Brain
    4.) Oasis - Champagne Supernova / Wonderwall
5.) Metallica - Enter Sandman / No Leaf Clover
    6.) Cake - Never There
7.) No Doubt - Don't Speak (As Zachary mandated, ridicule-inducing female rock song goes in this slot)
    8.) Greenday - Good Riddance
    9.) Guns-N-Roses - November Rain
10.) Blink 182 - Damnit, (Yes they were a ****ty gimic band for the most part, but most will admit that this was a great song)

The GARM is a place mentioned often in legend. A land where trades are proposed, rosters are discussed, games are broken down. A place, some suggest, that provides keen and insightful basketball analysis by people of all cultures.

Some people believe it actually exists. Personally I think it's all a load of hooey.

That is a nice theory, but I think the logical question would be why discuss this "basketball" you refer to on a message board such as this.

Best of the 90's, no particular order:

    Creep (Radiohead)
    Buddy Holly (Weezer)
    Everybody Hurts (REM)
    One (U2)
    Smells Like Teen Spirit (Nirvana)
When I Come Around (Green Day)
    Jeremy (Pearl Jam)
Killing In The Name Of (Rage Against the Machine)
Under the Bridge (Red Hot Chili Peppers)
    Self Esteem (The Offspring)

This is hard, I'm not even sure this is the best list I could come up with.

actually, around 1997, my freshman year of high school, there are a whole bunch of songs that i wouldn't normally like as much as i do but they all have a certain sound to them and nostalgia to them that makes me love them. and i managed to burn 3 CD's worth of them.

so from those since i can't think of the whole decade:

    Real World - Matchbox 20
As I Lay Me Down - Sophie B. Hawkins
    Torn - Natalie Imbruglia
I Need You - Savage Garden
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve (i don't even remember the commercial but i know i first heard this in a Nike commercial, they always have great commercials)
Semi-Charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
Do You Miss Me - Jocelyn Enriquez
    Mr. Jones - Counting Crows
    Too Close - Next
    Show Me Love - Robyn

    an eclectic bunch

Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Smells Like Teen Spirit seems like the epitome of a rock song, to me. It's not my favorite...but I have an appreciation for it like that.

I'm digging all the Weezer love. Look out for the new album in early 2005.
