Among the great things about this place is that you are exposed to some wonderful people willing to give up their time to help you. I thought it would be appropriate for these people to get some recognition for their efforts. I have been helped many times online with advice and so forth, usually pertaining to my complete ignorance of computers coupled with some rather extreme problems, and while their efforts were ultimately in vain, I would especially like to thank andymoon and R2K for spending, literally, hours trying to help me, the former with just general problems, the latter with Rockets related computer issues. Other people, like Smeg and Manny , to name just couple among the many, have helped out with personal advie and concern, and there are too many friends in here in a general sense to mention, but in the spirit of celebrating that aspect of this site and those posers in particular who have spent extended periods of time just helping me out, I wanted to especially thank andy and R2K. If I am forgetting others who have spent time helping me at other times, I sincerely apologize. Who have been your BBS Good Samaritans?
R2K - Computers Madmax - Can't remember anything specific .......but I am sure he has helped me with something. Hes just an all around nice guy!! Jeff - Web hosting and web design help

All those computer guys --- you know who you are. When i had crazy pop-ups...many of you "popped up" to help me out in my situation. All I did was a simple post with my problem and you guys (at least 20 different people) gave you advice on how to fix my problem. These are the things that make clutchfans.net such a great place.
well i haven't met anyone in person because i live out of state, but i appreciate guys like Uprising and Kaiser_Soze, people who do the play by play, and also people who are always positive, upbeat and never stoop to using bad language or personal attacks. Better BBS men than I.
I just want to point out that if this were about people who gave kind advice, I'd be here all night. I especially meant people who took a lot of time off their own schedules to help out. MadMax may be a nice guy, contrary to all appearances ( ), but if we start naming nice people, this list won't really mean anything.
Re-read my last post, and realized it came out dismissive of nice people, or people who acknowledge nice people, which was not my intention. What I meant to say was that, as far as I'm concerned, nice people are largley the norm in here, and if I had to try and think of everyone who's ever been kind, or offered me some advice, I'd have to list too many people, and the significance of listing any would diminish. What I wanted was the equivalent of the Good Samaritan Award, although just for each of us individually ( God, a competition of Kindness, imagine!?!?), ie people who have gone out of their way and sacrificed their own time for the sake of other posters, as andy and R2 K did with me. Of course, mine is just an opinion, and if people want to mention other posters who are kind, by all means, I'd just be reluctant because there are too many, and I'd be afraid of overlooking someone and hurting their feelings.
Rockets2K!!!! rockHEAD and everyone who helps with the chat. Also, bigtexxx and Trader_Jorge. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone.
R2k - Vid Clips, Games, Chat Codell - PBP in chat rockHEAD - PBP in chat Tim - for all the Rockets stuff
Mango has helped me a lot finding information I would never have discovered on my own. Thanks, Mango! Smeg and heypartner for reasons I won't give... I don't visit enough and keep meaning to. rimrocker for incredible posts in the D&D forum... above and beyond. R2K for his efforts getting us video of the Rocks and his computer advice here, which I read even when I don't need it! Good stuff. Smeg and R2K for some fun Tropical Fish discussions, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some people. And lots of other people I'm forgetting. (and Clutch and Crew goes without saying... visit the Feedback forum and give them a hearty thank you!)
I can't remember who, but I fixed my computer last week after following somebody's advice by booting from the CD and reinstalling. Thanks whoever that was!
heypartner - organizing Smeg's trip, gave me a free tix to the Sea. game R2K - posting all the games in bit torrent, although I know heyP and Smeg also have a hand on it also Jeff/Clutch - giving us all the inside info we want to hear Tim - all of the Rockets related stuff we usually hear before anybody else Stack24 - for throwing multiple parties at his place and even saving us a table R0ckets03 - for hooking me up with the Rockets DVDs (heh, i need to ask him for a few more he owes me ) JBIIRockets - for hooking me up with a few games on tape If i left anybody else, i apologize dearly.
Honestly Thanks to everyone that Came By live to enjoy the rockets games here and gave me a chance to meet some of the Posters on the BBS. DCSkillz Dave2000 Miguel R-fan 81 RM95 BiggieStuff Krosfyah Im sorry if i have left anyone off. Thank to all of you.
devilpartner has offered me Rockets tickets. B-Bob has given me science counseling, most likely to no avail. Jeff gave me knee advice, but that was before I even knew about this bbs. Smeg has taught me that no matter how down I am on myself, it could always be worse. I could be him. That is the greatest gift of all.
R2K for computer stuff, chat help, etc. Without him I would have never been able to ignore anyone during the Rockets chat. Manny for his music threads and the help it's done for my music collection. He's also helped me remember some old music I had but hadn't listened to in a LONG TIME.
I think that everyone on the BBS is great. Y'all provide me reasons to be late for class, late for work and especially y'all give me a reason to procrastinate on homework and studying... In a way, all of you are like my partners in crime! hehehe. Thanks everyone!
All the above, plus... bobrek helped me out one day when i needed some documents converted to .pdf. I was at work, where I am not allowed to install any programs, and desparately needed these docs converted for a project I was working on. I started a thread and turned to my co-workers and said "Watch, someone will step up and help." Sure enough, with 5 minutes bobrek got the docs back to me in pdf format. I love this place.
As if he isn't going to be elected: R2K- Computer guy RM95- saved me last year, giving me the opportunity to listen to the Astros games. Clutch/Jeff/Tim- for all the info on the Rockets (inside stuff) rockHEAD- for his PBP. There are so many posters that are awesome, it would be hard to name them all.
A few weeks back, I asked for tips on moving to the Austin area. I was flooded with many helpful responses. Our BBS has many good samaritans.
