    one man, one opinion.

    1. "Blah, blah racism" (thanks Jeff)
    2. The ignoring of ones position based on what he or she has LIVED, not researched. Why argue with a lawyer about the law?
    3. Personal barbs camouflaged as jokes that are not funny :)) <------does not make it funny).
    4. Not reading posts before you post. Sometimes I read the same stuff over and over again!
    5. Not respecting religion. A Rev. is a religious figure even if his judgement is impaired.

I could go on, your turn.

    1) Elimination of the  smiley
    2) Little to no attempt to look for a thread similar to yours...sometimes not even checking the front page
    3) Threads started with the obvious intent of beginning a liberal/conservative pissing match.

BBS related threads where everyone strokes each other.

(Once in a blue moon's fine, but the "Favorite Poster" type threads are becoming almost as frequent and monotonous as the "Favorite Song/Band/Album" type threads)

It makes me sad when someone insults the "favorite poster" style threads. I wish we could just give them a hug and some flowers, and make all their bitterness go away. Maybe we should start special threads for those people where everyone could post happy thoughts and compliments for them! :D

I'm tired of people sucking up to our well known posters/celebs/blahs. Somebody needs to say what we all are truly thinking and that is that Chance, your music sucks, AB, your comedy sucks, Will, your writing sucks, Tim, the Rockets' marketing sucks, DoD, your moderating sucks, MacBeth, your pornstar girl friend obviously sucks. . . I could go on and on, but you get the idea.

    :) <------------Funny.

This is easy...just disrespect and arrogance. The arrogance here is just amazing. The humility to respect another person...to not take a Jim Rome approach to every stinking post fosters real discussion...which I thought this was about to begin with...rather than winning and losing arguments.

Agreed, that and reducing the flame factor in threads. Can't we respectfully disagree without resorting to flames?

(horn noise) :) <------------UNFunny. Exactly what I'm talking about. Don't hate Homey, congradulate.

Maybe if you did something worth merit, then your opinion would be a bit different. Have a GREAT day anyhow. REALLY!

I would like to see the ability to post eliminated. That would really cut back on all of the problems listed above.

    1. quoting an entire long ass post to merely add "lol" or "damn that's crazy"

    2. making a duplicate topic "just cuz"

    3. bringing up old topics "just cuz"

    4. the same rehashed trade ideas over and over and over.

    5. people trying to pm insiders via the board. "pwease doc wocket, pwease wespond! is it kevin gawnett?"

    6. certain posters posting endless incoherrent blabbing stream of conciousness posts all over the place. get to the ****ing point.

    7. treating noobs with respect.

I should probably start another thread on this, but AB....I noticed that you had this as one of your complaints...

    5. Not respecting religion. A Rev. is a religious figure even if his judgement is impaired.

...and it got me to wondering.

As US citizens, we all must feel fairly strongly about "freedom of religion"--especially when it is guaranteed in the very first sentence of the bill of rights. I would imagine that it's in our human nature to be especially protective of the freedom of our own religion.

Long before America was discovered by Europeans, various religions had huge impacts on governments across the globe. In many instances, they WERE the government. In many of those cases, it was punishable to speak out against the ruling religion. We don't have that issue in the US because we have guaranteed the right for any religion to exist (as long as their practices are within the confines of the law). Still, though freedom of religion is guaranteed in our bill or rights, so is freedom of speech, so we can say whatever we want. Although social mores keep most of us from stepping outside of certain loosely defined boundaries.

Anyway, all that being said...should we really display respect for a religious figure that we completely disrespect? I mean....outside of the "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all" credo....if we think someone is a complete moron, and we feel that person is "leading" other people to be complete morons, should we really sugar-coat our feelings out of "respect" for someone else's religion?

I'm not sure if I articulated this well because I'm having a hard time wrestling this out in my own head. But it seems to me that to a degree, all religions play a bit of the political game (some more so than others), and that religion can be yet another facade to hide behind in trying to escape scrutiny.

    1) Anyone who quotes someone's ENTIRE 5-page MacBeth-like post only to add a stupid :) or "LOL" to the end of it should get kicked in the groin repeatedly. I don't care if you're female, either. Rules are rules.

    2) "1000th post!" threads are nice but uneccesary.

    3) Bring back up the "1000 Signs You Know You're an Obsessed Rocket Fan" thread again, and I'll hunt you down myself.

    4) If you post a movie or TV spoiler, add the word SPOILER somewhere visible.

    5) We need more "Best Poster Tournaments." Hourly, if need be. I'm bound to win at least one that way.

Well I thought it was obvious I just kidding. Do I have to go through and explain myself? Yes, I have Pulltab's CD, yes I bought Your CD as well, I always check Slate to see if Will has an article up, actually, I don't have an opinion on Rockets marketing because I'm not in town during the season, I wish DoD would post more but I'm glad he's there for game chat, and I think we all agree that MacB's pornstar chick "sucking" would be a good thing.

the :) <------ was added in because you had just mentioned it. I hardly ever use it.

All of CK's are damn good, especially 5-7.

Why don't you start a grassroots movement, Crisco...I'll sign the petition.

I feel the same way about a certain religious figure who does double duty as President of a certain powerful nation.

Anyways, to get this bad boy back on track:

    1. If you post an article, either give your opinion or leave it be, don't just end it with phrases like "I told you so" or "you don't say" etc.

    2. People bringing up threads that are over a year old and posting in them as if they happened the same day.

    3. Asking for posters to be unbanned before the banned poster even asks a moderator to unbann them.

    4. Complaining about the BBS getting shut down when you haven't even contributed to the tip jar.

Please, for the love of God, no more posting while drunk. The glaring typos hurt my eyes. :(
