    Refman

Since we are both proud members of the vast right wing conspiracy.

I would like to thank all of those who have voted for me in this round and in all previous rounds. Your support has been appreciated and it is a flattery that I accept with humility. It feels good to know that my posts have meant something to so many people.

I'm glad that I have made some of you think...feel...and perhaps even laugh. This has been my intent from the first time I logged in on this site. This has been a wonderful forum and it will continue to be.

Even if I do not win, I will not be sad. I will know that I faught the good fight. I will take comfort in the knowledge that I held true to my values, and that people with differing opinions would enjoy my posts enough to register a vote for me in this campaign.

I have treasured the discourse with each and every one of you, and I will continue to do so. I ask you for your votes. I understand if you do not feel it in your heart and your conscience to vote for me. I will feel no ill will. I have been fortunate to make it this far. I have had to get past some excellent posters. You know who you are.

If you do vote for me, please accept my thanks in advance.

Manny...thanks for running this tournament. Your diligence is appreciated.

Clutch, Jeff, et al...thanks for the website. You have made my unemployment a little more bearable by providing this wonderful website.

Ouch, I'm getting trounced by the Refman Express. Better pull out the big guns, then...

    Before voting, know this:

Refman is a great poster, what does he actually do for you? Sure, he can dispense lawyer advice and whatnot, but that's about it. I, on the other hand, can do something. Since this is mainly a sports site, let me appeal to the sports fanatic in all of you. Now, I know most of you don't collect trading cards, and that's okay. What I can give you is more than cards. I can offer the mere knowledge that I created a card with you in mind.

Thinking of all you UT fans here (especially Major, The Cat, DVauthrin, etc.), I gave you this:

For all you A&M fans out there (like Refman), I gave you this:

For the rest of you Texans fans, I've poured my blood, sweat, and tears into these cards:

So, I ask you... What has Refman done for you? I've got Quentin Griffin cards coming for mduke (hopefully autographs), Chris Simms cards for The Cat, and a few Dorsey, McDougle, and McGahee cards for Manny (plus, I have an amazing shot of Portis from last year's rookie shoot I can divulge to you...). If you prefer the tyranny approach, keep in mind that I can keep the Texans and Cowboys cards to a bare minimum in future sets. (Plus, I sit next to the basketball editor, so I have his ear regarding all Rockets cards and images...)

... Lest we forget, I also post decent stuff on this BBS, too. :)

So, seriously, folks, what's it gonna be? A vote for me is a vote for making sure you get the cards you want. I can offer something tangible (or at least priceless) that Refman cannot: flattery, inspiration, hopes, and a cool story to tell others. Think about that before you press the "Submit Reply" button.

(If you decide not to vote for me, the least you can do is go out and buy some Topps football cards. :) )

Wow, Middle Tennessee State is putting on a desperation full-court press. Duke calmly passes over the top for another dunk.

Sorry, VS, and no offense at all. I vote Refman (mainly, so I can pull the old "yeah, but I got beat by the champ" crap).

    That's not Gaffney's number. I believe he is 86.

Yes, but that wasn't his number at the rookie shoot, where the photo came from...

At least the vote won't be unanimous if I vote for myself (and I do...). For those who haven't voted yet: how about throwing a pity vote my way? :D
