Again, another thread trying to reduce the resell value of my season tickets. Must interject.

I heard a rumor from a not-so reliable source who said Webber is not interested in smoking pot with Jason Williams anymore and is looking to team up with a clean PG when he becomes a free agent in '01.

    His first pick is Houston.

Another counter-spin to Almu's logic is, if SA does not get Hill, they quickly become aging has-beens trying to rebuild around one player. That makes them the same as us.

We have a superstar. Other centers will want to play with him soon enough.

You long-range, negative prognosticators be damned [IMG] I'll bring the value of my tickets back up to face value inspite of you.

    also, that rumor is old.

I don't mean to challenge the quality of your source. But that is a rumor from the Summer, at least.

If Hill and Duncan end up playing together it won't be in SA. There's no way for SA to free up enough money to sign Hill. It can't happen.

First of all. San Antonio is a poor team that doesnt pay big bucks. They dont have enough. ...

But i do think the both will be together, somewhere else.

I have a feeling they will be playing together too...

Maybe in the Olympics!!! USA, USA!!

  6. aelliot...Actually I think it can be done. If the Pistons actually believed that there was no shot in hell of resigning Hill, He could be traded to the Spurs along with his bird rights, then resigned along with Duncan using bird rights on both, not really affecting their cap situation.

    But I could be wrong.

The rumor might be old. I am not sure. The guy that gave me this info was a client of ours and is DEEP into the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars. He handles their marketing and is always in the loop when it comes to trade rumors and the like. He has given me good info in the past. I just haven't spoken to him in a long time.

    That being said...

Lets say this is true. The case can be made that the West not only has horses, they have Secreteriats up and down the conference. It concerns me because Olajuwon was actually 2 players in one and when the Lakers declined, he was there to smack people around.

Now, the teams that we need to beat are YOUNG just like we are and are already ahead of us in the talent and experience department. If Hill joins Duncan in Orlando or something, that is a different story. Then we just worry about the Lakers, who by the way, had talent and just needed a brain transplant. Looks like they got it.

And Partner, sorry to do this to you. But unless your tickets have a saxophone and some jazz music notes on it, and say New Orleans, you better try and sell them quick before they become useless. [IMG]

    Just kidding of course! [IMG]

I got a little rumor from a pretty good source. If it comes to be true, the Rocks need to hope and pray that we get good QUICK. Why? Well...

According to my man, Grant Hill is on the move after this year. Although its not guaranteed that he is leaving Detroit, the rumor is that its almost a sure thing that hes gone. Where is he headed? Well, it ain't the Rocks. He wants to play with Tim Duncan and the Spurs.

Now, I think the Rocks are building a hell of a young team. Francis is going to be the point guard of the future, in my opinion, or damn close. But, if the Lakers and the Spurs both have young, dynamic franchise players for the next 7-10 years, what the hell are the Rockets to do? Not one, but TWO!

Imagine a combo of Hill and Duncan on the same team? Add Robinson in there for the next 2-3 years and we can't even start to talk about beating that team let alone compete. We already know that the Lakers are killing EVERYONE and they don't even average 100 points a game!!! They have finally started to put it together and its not like Shaq and Kobe are 30 years old. I am not even talking about the Blazers in all of this.

In the next 3 or 4 years, there is nobody in the draft that you can say is "franchise" type. K. Martin is not a franchise player no matter what people say. Players like that are all over the NBA. Would he help if drafted by the Rocks? Of course. Francis is a hand full. But let him score his 35 and shut down everyone else. How are you going to do that with the Lakers? Or if Grant Hill goes to the Spurs, how are we going to shut down the Spurs?

Not to push the panic button to soon. I was floored when I heard that rumor.

I have faith in the Rocks, but one thing that these two teams have in common is a new arena or a new arena coming. And if the Rockets are in limbo and unsure of the arena referendum...

Just thought I would share that little tidbit.

I'm not sure that the Spurs would have enough money for both. I've been hearing variations on the both of them playing together next year, with the Spurs, Bulls, or Pistons. However, everything I have heard is that A) it will be impossible unless one will take a huge paycut, and B) this much-talked about friendship is not really there. Just because they have the same agent and did a few commercials together, Hill has stated that they really aren't that close of friends.

However, I do share your concern about the Lakers. Fortunately, I think the Spurs are close to being like the Rockets are now. With aging players all over except for Daniels and Duncan.
