Battier is a funny guy. I like his good natured way. To tell you the truth I would miss him when he leaves the team. He adds a personality that would otherwise be emotionless robots. Thats why I miss Landry. I think you build teams with guys like this.

    Artest
    Landry
    Battier
    Lowry

If you think about it? Thats was our best and most interesting team in a long time and most filled with character. Too bad he doesnt fit with emotionless stats team Morey built. He is better suited for a Championship caliber squad not as a starter but bench glue guy like he should be here if we get a guy who can start over him adequately. A star.

Which current players do you think are emotionless stat robots?

Martin and Yao. Actually Yao kind of has a personality. Jordan Hill and Budinger but they dont get to play too much to have established a clear cut identity. Just not enough character there and hence the 4th quarter comebacks against us. Teams with character close out games usually. Rockets teams Champions of past. Alot of character. Really tough to beat in the fourth quarter. Emotionless teams? Let alot of comebacks happen.

Yeah, agree with you on Landry. Hope the Rockets can get him back eventually.

Sounds like Batman wants more corner 3 opportunity.

He isnt a stats robot. He has alot of character basketball wise. When the chips are down he steps up. It may be methodical like Hakeem. Its dominating though and thats his character.

    Stats robots

    Kevin Martin
    Corey Maggette
    Zac Randolph
    Aaron Brooks
    Rudy Gay
    Antuan Jamison
    Richard Jefferson
    Luol Deng
    Al Jefferson

For whatever reason their gaudy stats rarely add up to team wins. Empty emotionless stats and players reflect that in their attitudes. Easy to come back on guys like this and they hardly ever close out wins. Just add to their stats. Emotionless stats players.

He's saying teams don't focus on Ish as much as they do Brooks on defense, that's why they need to move around the ball more.

He is a better player than Battier even though his stats are pretty meaningless. He is younger.Battier is about to be declining pretty soon. Rudy Gay adds a player others might want to play along side as a star becauise of his hype. The intangibles he brings with those stats are more than a Corey Maggette and Kevin Martin because he dunks the ball and players see him differently than other stat stuffers. Similar to the way they do Chris Bosh another stat stuffer.

So you don't want any stats robots on the team.....unless you do.

I didnt say that. I said Battier is on team with stat stuffers and he doesnt fit this play. Rudy Gay would though. Battier fits on a Championship type team. Rudy Gay would be better for what we run. Offense and up and down running team. Martin as his wing hitting threes. Alot of stats players together make a great team. A mix match of team players and a correy Maggete and Kevin Martin types? Creates no stars and a bunch of role players. 1-5 as a result. Got to have alot of talent with no stars.

So you would rather have all the same type of player, rather than a diverse mix that can complement each other's strengths and weaknesses.

    A team of

    Yao
    Scola
    Gay
    Martin
Brooks is a juggernaught if none of them are stars still.

    Battier
    Martin
    Brooks

Is a mix of players who dont mesh the same kind of play. Some half court, some offense, some uptempo, one defense, but no cohesion and no stars???? Just few good players and a bunch of role players. Thats why its not Championship material.
