Battier is our 3rd option, do we need anyone else?

After the Rudy Gay trade I could only think of the negatives and such for the team. But now I'm realizing that we have a legit 3rd scorer that we have been talking about since the start of the off season and he also can defend/ rebound/ hustle. Is there another person that has great talent you would like to see on this team now such as a starter type material? The only way we could pull this off is with are trade exception or trading are players away. Only fear is that if we pull a starter we might lose the weak depth that we have.

    Trade Options:
    - Luther Head (Don't want to trade him but he is prob. the best offer we can deal and since we have alot of guards on the team now, I would trade him and not look back)

    - Juwaun Howard (Real hard to trade him but im sure we could package him with Head? for a nice player)

    - Chuck Hayes (Maybe him and head but I much rather have Howard go)

Battier isn't a 3rd option. He's a garbage man. He isn't going to create offense.

Unless one of the unknowns step up or Sura is healthy, there is no 3rd option on the team, which isn't that bad as long as the big two stay healthy and Yao keeps up his dominant play.

Watch Team USA play and you'll see why Battier is so hyped.

He's hyped because of his impact, not his presence on offense. It's his impact on the defensive end(team defense, not just match up defense). He's not a 3rd option, he's just another double digit scorer, basically. A 3rd option is one who you can give the ball to and say get me 2 pts, you cant tell Shane to create for himself.

I'm not sold on Battier as a scoring option. We don't need another spectacular scorer but at least a good one for our 3rd option. Steve Francis for cheap would be my choice. I'd say for Rafer/Juwan/Sura would get him and they would probably give us the up and coming David Lee as well just for taking Francis off their hands. Then I could see NY waiving Bobby since they will be over the league limit unless they send a few rookies to the D-league. We could pick him right back up if we wanted. After all that, We would still have Luther Head but more importantly, heart and hustle are restored to this team with Stevie back.

Think how Vince Carter did so poorly in TOR his last season there and then once he was traded to a better situation, his career was totally revived. The exact same thing would happen to Francis here and we would have great rebounders at every position but the 2. I think JVG could make it work.

Oh and David Lee would be awesome. Youth, hustle and athleticism all in one.

I'm not thinking of Battier as the third scoring option. I think Howard stands a better chance of being our third guy, which isn't ideal. Gay would've developed nice... ah nevermind.

third option/scorer or whatever you want to call it, is an overrated term when you have two superstars that dominate the ball in yao and t-mac. now in any one particular game that either of them misses, it would be helpful to have a guy like, i don't know, mike james, step up the scoring, but i think we'll be pleasantly surprised this coming season.

You can never have enough scoring options with the Rox. Especially if Yao and T-mac attracts all the D and no one can hit an open shot to make them pay.

I am getting impatient for a return to the championship years.

Poor poor thinking that NY would include David Lee in a deal where they essentially get back nothing, and still have Juwan's contract. And I'm pretty sure the NBA stopped allowing teams to trade a guy, then pick him right back up if he was cut by the team he was traded to. So no all around

Trust me, if you hadn't said something, I was going to. I know I make mistakes as well (sometimes ;)), but come on. Mixing up 'are' with 'our' is pretty dang bad. I haven't seen that one before.

And, though this op didn't do it, it still blows my mind when people use 'then' when they should be using 'than'. "He is better then that guy." AAAAAHHHHHH. That just KILLS me.

    Ok, back on topic. Sorry.
