These two are more Colbert than conservatives. They push the boundaries just enough to not seem blatantly illegitimate.

It's clear that neither of them are serious at all when posting.

I'm sure the other conservatives here will back me up on this. They're clearly playing the fool.

Why do you guys put up with their crap?

sad thing is, you can name only 2 of "them"...meanwhile they are greatly outnumbered on the other side. Yet, you dont feel the need to call them out.

things that make you go hmmmmm

I have to agree. You know, for all that people say Basso and Trade Jorge are outrageious right-wing, it doesn't compare to some of the left-wing nutz out here who think Bush has something to do with 9/11 - there are the flip side of those who think Iraq had something to do with 9/11.

There are far more extremist views here then TJ and Basso, it's silly to call them out and not their more wacko liberal counterparts.

All of the "others" refuse to show up anymore. Several years ago there was a much more balanced population on this board but they know what a cluster **** Bush has become so instead of eating crow and saying how horrible the situation is, they hide.

You aren't too far behind these two jokers.

I thought everyone knew this. I wondered why people actually answered them seriously.

i agree. the two mentioned in title are pretty out there but like you accurately point out there are much more extreme counterviews that have yet to be called out to such an extreme...at least in title.

if you think that then you havent paid too much attention.

but you may want to look in the mirror bro.

While you aren't as fanatical as these two, you still drink the Kool Aid. Your delivery is just different.

Fair point. I probably should have been more thorough in my original post. I realize that there are extremists on both sides. The reason I made the thread wasn't that I thought the right was out-nonsensing the left.

It was because those two clearly aren't serious in their posts. Of course there are others, but none more blatantly fraudulent.

No reasonable person could believe that either of the previously mentioned posters are real.

It's not even about political beliefs, which would land me further right than left, without a doubt.

I just wonder why such an active and otherwise intelligent forum puts up with such obvious frauds?

    That WAS my point.

Why aren't they banned? Their ridiculous posts give an unfair advantage to the left.

TJ, is obviously a joke, and just laughing at all that goes on. It's fun to engage him as if we were serious, but also just playing along.

    basso, I'm afraid is serious.

I was going to post something very, very similar in my initial post. I totally agree.

Banning that one guy with the myspace "help me" was quick enough. I suspect that was due more to the complaint button than anything else.

This site is awesome, but the rapid growth in popularity of the Rox may have made it more difficult to police the auxiliary boards.

Of course I don't expect Clutch or one of his gang to take even more time to actively police this board. I can't imagine how much time they put in to this site. However, TJ and Basso are a longstanding problem that needs to be addressed.

Completely agree. People who actually take TJ seriously need to step back a take a deep breath. He clearly posts for the sake of getting a reaction, not for the sake of an honest discussion of ideas. TJ is about as serious as Borat, except he's hardly ever funny.

Being a jerk doesn't get one banned around here. If he crosses the line with being offensive, racist or overprovocative, then maybe. The ability to post here isn't based on a popularity contest nor should they be.

From my personal standpoint, as long as he doesn't hijack a bunch of threads and post 50 times/day, it doesn't bother me at all. What I find distracting is when people waste server space by responding to him. That is feeding the hungry beast.

I not sure I understand what you mean by legitimate account. He has a sign-in just like everyone else. If you think he is a member here masquerading as another, I doubt it. Clutch can detect that and he would have been banned long ago.
