-------------- Pretty funny stuff. I only quoted the parts relevant to the game last night. PS, don't take the Yao thing too seriously, these guys are just poking fun and the whole point of their blog is to chronicle failure. For the entire thing, click here
Poor Yao, the biggest laughing stock. Every season he comes up with new embarassing highlight reels. But you got to give it to him though. The guy might be slow and soft physically, but he is tough inside. And having a thick skin doesn't hurt either
"[Matt Barnes] just pushed him out of the way" -You've got to be kidding me, he left T-mac (giving him an open 3) in order the elbow Rafer "[Nash] appeared to slip and fell into Alston" -there's no way that Nash went in to break up the fight, we lunged straight at Alston My point is that this recollection is either heavily biased or heavily ignorant.
Check this article out. From a Courtside Perspective by iamtrevorpaxton on Nov 13, 2008 12:00 AM MST Editors Note: Bumping this up to the front page after slight rearrangement of content. Thanks trevor! -ZF http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2008/11/13/660236/from-a-courtside-perspecti So, I had the opportunity to attend the Rockets vs. Suns game...for free, might I add. After hyping myself up for a night at home watching ESPN, I got the call from a friend and I was on my way. Section 110, row 19, seats 3 & 4. But that's just to rub it in. All in all, it was a good experience to have been at the game. I got to see a nearly full fledged brawl (maybe Artest really has learned to calm his temper), some questionable officiating, and Rafer Alston go off for nearly 15 first half points. An interesting experience indeed. Game Notes: Yao Ming is much bigger when you see him in person. I mean, seriously. That dude is a beast. Greg Willard is on my "I don't really know if I quite respect you as an official" list. There were a few boneheaded calls he made (the Lopez block, which actually was a block, the Aaron Brooks travel, which he pegged the foul on a Sun instead of calling the travel, etc.). Where the hell was Amaré? He was nearly a complete phantom on the offensive end. Was he really intimidated by being guarded by Luis Scola, or just afraid that the Great Wall would obliterate him once he went inside? Either way, when we needed Sun Tzu to step it up, he was relatively invisible. Ejection central: I understand Barnes and Alston getting the boot. I also understand Nash and Shaq receiving the technicals. What I don't understand is, after throwing Nash to the floor, how T-Mac escaped with merely a technical foul. He seemed to be doing the most shoving of anyone on the floor. Maybe it's just me, or did anyone else think T-Mac should have gotten the boot as well? After the overall hype had passed, I sat there and made my predictions (of each team's big three) to my friend. Here's what I projected after the jump. This guy is an idiot. I guess he didn't witness Shaq pushing Yao, T-mac, and Alston and escalting the incident...please
Shaq didn't push Yao...he fell trying to get McGrady out of the situation. And Yao looked damn good last night...It's getting a little old how some of these guys trying to make fun of Yao are always talking about how slow he is...when in fact...he looked really good and quicker than I have witnessed him since the Dallas game
hmm...was this guy really watching the game?it was shaq who was doing all the shoving..lol he cleared out TMAC gave a kneeling YAO a nudge and pushed rafer all the way to the side of the court...i dont think anyone should have to be suspended but if any it should be barnes and rafer otherwise all would just have to pay fines and penalties etc..
