Basketball reminds me a lot of the wwf and the wcw. Here is why: 1. Wrestlers tell their counterpart what to do in a match because it is scripted and the they listen to each other. Basketball players sometimes tell their counterpart what their gonna but their opponet tries to stop them. 2. The networks hype up the events to attract casual fans. Not real fans casual fans. 3. This the main reason I feel Basketball has become just like wrestling. When a player on a team the ref is favoring commits a foul he acts like he doesent see it when he does. Whe a player on the team the ref is not favoring does not commit a foul the ref calls it. In wrestling if you notice the bad guy will cheat in some way and the refs will pretend that he did not see it even though he does. Or when the nbad guy hits another wrestler with a foriegn object the ref will pretend like he didnt see it. Overall what I am trying to say is that the refs do see the fouls and non fouls, travels walks etc... but they call the game the way the NBA tells them too. Dont forget the refs are employees and they have to listen to their employee or they will be terminated. ------------------
But basketball dosen't have Trish Stratus ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
No, Bark just wishes he had! The next time you have a chance to watch the tape (and with Bark on TNT, how he loves to brag on this "tussle", it WILL be shown again), notice that Barkley never really picks Shaq up. He attempts to, but then falls over on top of him when he can't. So it wasn't a body slam, but more of a tackle. And then he puts his fist next to Shaq's temple, like he really hit Shaq or something. I've said it before and I'll say (or write) it again! That was one of the worst "FIGHTS" I have ever seen! Shaq shoves Bark, Bark throws ball, Shaq hits Bark in back (which is pretty bad since Bark was facing him), Bark tries to pick up Shaq but topples over when he can't, Bark fakes punch to Shaq's temple, GAME OVER! Damn I'm bored!! ------------------
No where near as bad as all of the complete misses in the numerous fights between Miami and NY. ------------------ You can't stick a porcupine in a barn, light it on fire, and expect to get licorice.
Bakley-Sahq was actually good for a NBA fight. Usually the two combatants square off, wait until their teammates to get between them and they start talking more smak are throwing a punch which misses by about 3 foot. At least there was some contact and it was beween two well known players.
Bad fights Andre Rison vs Deion Sanders the season after Deion left atlanta. They slapped like girls. They didn't even get their bodies into the slaps. ------------------
Now that Zo-LJ slapfest was THE WORST fight I've ever seen, anywhere, at anytime in my life. And to think, LJ used to box! The shame! Actually, Ward-PJ Brown was similar to Bark-Shaq, but Ward actually did get PJ off the ground a little. ------------------
1. van gundy vs. zo's leg 2. van gundy vs. camby's follow-thru 3. LJ vs. zo in shadowboxing competition 4. officer olden polynice vs. the utah police ------------------ purvis was never short.
As much as I hate the guy, Charles Oakley knows how to fight, and start fights! ------------------ Give me ambiguity or give me something else.
What about Chris Childs when he beat up Kobe? ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Well since the XFL is no more...maybe Mcmahon will start up the XBA now. You know, like playgound style basketball, where players only get paid if they win. Cato would not fare well in a league like that. We may be on to something here. ------------------
This is too COACHlike for me NOT to post... Oh, BTW, I think you're off base. ------------------ Jazzkiller
Sucker punching someone(and barely connecting) and then running away is not beating someone up. ------------------ Charles Barkely on the Raptors defeating the Knicks in Round 1 :"I think it was the Lord. The Lord was with the Raptors. You know the Knicks like to talk so much about religion, but I think the Lord was a Raptor fan."
