Just wondering, but who collects basketball cards. Personally, I have 3,000 cards. I usually buy card packs, hoping to get lucky. My favorite company is Fleer, because they make some tight cards.

Anyone have any cool or rare basketball cards?

I collect mostly Rockets cards... I have quite a few but not 3000. I also have a few old football cards and misc other cards...

I buy a few every now and then and have a semi-updated spreadsheet with all my cards...

I'm really looking forward to the next local card show...

Favorites include old Rudy T and Dream cards... my Stevie collection is pretty sweet and i'm looking forward to my future Eddie Griffin collection!

I used to collect cards back in the day when Wal-Mart had them. But, I didn't have the time or the resources to buy and organize them anymore. My last ones were Iverson and Duncan rookies.

Consider myself more of a casual collector, if I see a card Or cards I like/want, I will get them but I don't buy cards every week or something like that. Of the highlights amongst my collection I have a Michael Jordan Power in the Key, a few Kobe Bryant Rookie card and quite a large collection of Charles Barkley cards.

I have an enormous collection that consists of thousands of cards. I have no idea exactly how many I have.
As for cool and rare cards, I have:
    1986-87 Fleer Hakeem Olajuwon RC
1998-99 EX Century Hakeem Olajuwon Essential Credentials (serial numbered to to 29, I think)
1998-99 EX Century Scottie Pippen Essential Credentials (serial numbered to 89)
1999-00 EX Century Tim Duncan Essential Credentials (serial numbered to 44)

And of course my 2 favorites:
    1997-98 Hakeem Olajuwon masterpiece 1/1
    1998-99 Hakeem Olajuwon masterpiece 1/1

I love knowing that I'm the only person in the world with those cards of my favorite player.

I collect cards. At one point I probably had around 8000-10000 cards. Now I have about 50-100. Thats because I sold all of them in packs of 10 for a $1 each. I am still selling some at my business. Each pack is worth probably anywhere from $5-$20! The majority are Rocket cards, Grant Hill, Penny, Duncan with many many Iverson, Jordans, Carter, Kobe, etc, etc. I used to collect alot of players, but now I only collect Rockets.

My dream is to have a PSA 10 rookie cards of the following players:

    Sam Cassell (Finest Refractor)
    Robert Horry
    Otis Thorpe
    Vernon Maxwell
    Kenny Smith
    Hakeem
    Clyde
    Charles
    Francis
    Mobley
    Griffin
any other "superstar" the Rockets might get.

Actually in the last month I have added to my collection like crazy. I recently bought a PSA 9 SPX Auto rookie of Francis. I already had a PSA 10 Finest Gold Refractor of Francis. I have a PSA 9 Encore Gold Rookie of Cuttino and a PSA 10 Ionix Recipricol (only one in the world!) of Mobley as well. I have a Eddie Griffin SPX Spectrum Autograph Jersey card of Eddie Griffin (numbered to 25!).

    Woo hoo!

I know Imchirs (sp?) or someone by that name has me beaten though. He usually posts in the Collecting forum and he has some nice things as well.

I also collect jerseys and game used memorabilia. I just bought a Cuttino Mobley Game Used Autograph Jersey from Ebay. One THAT HE ACTUALLY WORE IN A GAME! I already have a Francis Replica Autograph jersey. I also have his Game Used Arm Band. I have autograph jerseys of Hakeem, Clyde, Charles, Horry, Cassell, Rudy and a Calvin/Francis autograph jersey. All are the old Rocket colors except Barkley.

I plan on getting game used jerseys of any of the above mentioned players and shadowboxing it in a frame with their respective PSA 10 rookies.

Anyone have anything that interest me please feel free to contact me.

Oh and I would just like to say that if it wasnt for ebay and the Rockets memorabilia that I find on there, I would have lower prom season tix to the Rockets. :(

Basketball cards went out of style years ago. They boomed during Shaq's rookie year. I have the Fleer Ultra Shaq rookie, which was actually worth something back then. Due to a saturated market, basketball card values have dropped.

Don't forget those NFL "zubaz" zebra pants. Not to mention rolling up your jeans with a tuck and fold.

Huh? What are you talking about? Basketball cards just came into style around 1995. Baseballl had always been the only cards and Football had just come in. Basketball Cards are as popular as ever.

    As for my collection -

300 Hakeem Olajuwon Cards (No Doubles) My Favorite one being a 97-98 Autographics, Getting an autograph used to be something special. now everything has autos or Jerseys on it.

around 90 Steve Francis cards, Haven't had much luck with High End Francis cards, My Favorite Francis card would have to be this one I just got thats numbered to 150. I have a PSA 8 Francis UD rookie.

I have a Cuttino Rookie (They only made 3 of them). Also I have 4 Eddie Griffin Rookie Cards.

As for other sports I have a large rookie card collection including at least one rookie card from every rookie from 99-02.

I also have a Kobe Bryant piece of Floor card and a Michael Jordan Piece of the floor card from when he won the NCAA Championship on in 82.

I have about 8 shoeboxes full of basketball cards, If i had to estimate I would say about 10,000 cards.

Actually, basketball cards are going downhill. In fact, the whole trading card industry is falling off right now (and I should know). Even football cards suck right now (much to my chagrin). Baseball, however, remains pretty steady in sales.

I pleaded with the basketball editor not to add an Hakeem Raptors card to any of his sets this year. Unfortunately, he didn't listen to me. Oh well. I got back at him by reducing the amount of Eagles cards I did (he's from Philly). That'll show him not to mess with a Rockets fan...

Oh, yeah, and Fleer sucks... :)

Eh...what card is this and how much do you want for it?

Rockhead, did you ever find out from your friend when there is a card show in Houston? We need to go early, because all of the good stuff gets sold on the first day.

I would also like to thank Moochie Norris's hair for my Rockets collection. I had a couple of Moochie Norris Bobblheads that I've been selling on ebay for an average of $90! All that money of course gets "reinvested" in other Rockets stuff. :D

Dork! ;) You know anyone who has a Premium Ruby of Mobley from his rookie year? That must be the hardest card to find!
I already have the F/X version of Encore and the Reciprocal version of Ionix.
