I'm not going to fill that trade. A. Sanders is completely worthless. There's absolutely no way anyone could even concievably want him. He would have no prospect of ever taking an at-bat for the worst team in baseball history. Bazan is a future stud closer. This is the first veto ever for reasons of fairness.
No offense is taken, Raven. I have emailed both haven and Nomar on how to fix this matter. What happened, FYI and for everyone else, was last season I thought that I had a good chance of winning my division. So, like a complete dumbass, I traded a prospect named Hilliard and my #1 draft pick for this year to the Red Sox for Freddy Garcia, Shawn Green, and I can't remember...I guess Boston's 3rd rounder for this season. Well, this deal killed me for a couple of reasons: 1) It pretty much blew my money to sign anyone in the off-season (only $8 million for extensions and $0 for free agents). As a result, guys like Garcia and Trevor Hoffmann wound up leaving my team for nothing. By the time, I realized that, the trading deadline has passed and I was fu!ked. 2) I didn't know or realize how good the Zapistas were. I never could catch them, and if I had known that, I would never have done the deal. I'm not blaming Nomar. He just took advantage of my greenness and stupidity and wanting to get to the playoffs. I had agreed with him to do this, and now it's time to pay the piper. Addendum - We had agreed to this deal before haven decreed no more trading draft picks and future consideration deals, but I was under the impression that if we could still work something out that any trade would be accepted. I don't know how to fix it, but I still think that I owe Nomar something because he never would have given up Garcia and Green without this final part of the deal. I just got an email from haven and he understands what happened and he is going to allow the deal to go through. However, I have learned from this and I guess that is why I will be wary of trading any more prospects. It's just too bad that I exercised poor judgment in agreeing to this deal, but I made my bed & now I have to sleep in it.
I could be wrong, but as I don't think Manny is stupid, maybe this is the fulfillment of an earlier "draft pick" deal. Perhaps Manny is sending Bazan to Boston for "nothing" as future considerations from a previously agreed-upon deal. But as I said, I could be wrong. Edit: Damn, I'm good.
