Yeah, he's been on fire the last few weeks. He just had a bad first half, but has otherwise been awesome non-stop his entire career. The Cardinals likely gave up their prospect Brett Wallace for him.
P.S. - Don't confuse Matt Holliday (outfielder for the A's currently, formerly for the Rockies) with Roy Halladay (the Blue Jays pitcher seen above).
Holliday is a solid pickup. But if they had to give up Brett Wallace, I don't mind so much. That's a significant hit
They gave up WAY to much but there going for it..screw the future like the attidude but there distant future doesn't look so bright.
Holliday is good - don't let his stats fool you. He went from playing in one of the best hitter's parks (maybe the best) in Coors to playing in one of the worst hitter's parks in Oakland. He will give Pujols some protection in their lineup.
this makes the cardinals very very tough...ouch. longterm it may not work out wonders for them but Holliday is a legit threat right now.
They needed to do something after getting stomped by our Stros! The movie you're thinking of I believe is "My Life" with Michael Keaton.
Best mid-season acquisition? A) Chris Coste B) Matt Holliday I bet history will show the answer is A.
