ive been making long island ice teas at my apt. for friends for a couple of months now. its hard to finish off 5 bottles. but they are starting to get pretty low.
they're sorta green... that's xmas enough for me. besides i never need an occasion to drink a rita and a rita is right for any occasion! serve em up!
I'm a Herradura Anejo kinda guy. I've wanted to try Herradura Seleccion, but at about $30 per shot I'll need a good reason to celebrate.
I've never been a tequila fan, ever since that time I was 19 and had way, way, way too much one night. Ugh. Remind me to tell y'all that story sometime. Favorite drink is Crown and 7up. Favorite shot is a snakebite: 1/2 Crown, 1/2 peppermint schnapps. Goes down really smooth, but has a sharp bite afterwards.
Well, I'm still 'sperimentin' with it. Something like this: 1 ounce tequila 1/2 ounce + splash Cointreau 1/4 ounce lime juice 1 ounce cranberry juice (+ add until perfect ruby-pink color) That last part is just for King Cheetah's view of a party in SF. Note, it's less tequila than you'd have citron vodka in a real cosmo; I tried the full amount, and was it ever bad. Not that I didn't finish the entire sample, but...
If your drinking this by yourself you may have a problem. Anyway off my high horse... A guy who I work with made me his special apple martini before a bunch of us went out on the town. I had two of these. 1 shot Apple Pucker 3 shots Skyy Vodka That was a fun night, but a long morning.
I have trouble drinking tequila or vodka unless the taste is very masked because of... bad experiences. I do like margaritas a lot, though. My favorite is a red snapper. Whiskey, amaretto, and cran (equal parts). Works well with rum, too.
I'm sure everyone's interested in the results. The tequila cosmo was not bad, and guests enjoyed it. (By the way, I put even more cranberry and lime juice than is listed above). However, the true winner was the GINGER LIME DROP: 2 parts gin 2 parts fresh lime juice 1 part simple syrup 1 part soda water dash of juiced ginger Demand for these was overwhelming.
I need some tequila help as well.....I hope someone here can help. Somebody posted a tequila thread a year or two back over here, and someone replied with a link to a tequila website that was absolutely incredible! Someone with a deep love of tequila made the website, and it had so much info it was ridiculous. Does anyone remember that website? I need to find it again.
Nevermind.....it's ONLY the first website that shows up when you do a Yahoo! search for the word "tequila." I remembered it being some guy's personal site, so I figured it would be hard to find. Needless to say, I was wrong. http://www.ianchadwick.com/tequila/
Da wife wants the info on how you juiced your ginger. As a Tanguray and Tonic gal she's interested in your more festive concoction.
