Hopefully this is true, and we can sign him tomorrow.

Also, I forgot to bold the part about the Rockets. Could someone with that ability help edit my post?

Regardless of his age the guy can flat out play ! I have always liked his game and Damn it seems like everytime he shoots the three it goes in !! Also, he can play some point so lets just tell Head to pack his bags and he can go where ever the hell he wants just leave town and never show his face again in this town. I'd rather have Barry at 37 anytime over Head !! he's gonna produce mark my word and for cheap !!

The article says Tyronn Lue is the favorite to become Nash's backup point guard. Am I missing something? What about Leandro Barbosa? Maybe they're considering him a PG/SG, or maybe he's on the trading block. But they would definitely mention the latter.

He can help but this isn't a reason for much enthusiasm. He can help Head out but he is a poor defender who will have problems with athletic guards.

He can shoot and pass but he is at his best an upgrade from Bobby Jackson. He is smart, level headed which is his biggest attribute and can provide leadership. To expect much more than that will be unrealistic. Don't forget he missed 51 games last year and we already have an injury prone team. He can score on occasions in the playoffs but can't be relied on a game by game basis.

Let's hope that Morey will get lucky at the trading deadline.

Indiana seems very interested in Landry... Now that the Sixers got Brand, seems like Indiana's the only team in our path.

Every other year (bi-annually), a team can use an exception to the salary cap that pays an amount (not sure what the calculation is, but it has been a shade under $2 million for a few years) that is over the minimum salary, but less than the MLE.

From Larry Coon's salary cap FAQ ...

    Bi-annual exception amounts
    2005-06 $1.67 million
    2006-07 $1.75 million
    2007-08 $1.83 million
    2008-09 $1.91 million
    2009-10 $1.99 million
    2010-11 $2.08 million
    2011-12 $2.18 million

You can't sign and trade players that you acquire using an exception.

And for the people who are discounting Barry because he's 37, maybe you forget that his brother, Jon, was 36 years old when he was on the Rockets bombing 3's at a 45% clip. The difference is that Brent is a better player, not to mention a contributor on multiple championships...and he would be acquired at a bargain price.

But I suppose you all would rather stand pat with Luther Head, right? Face it, the LLE isn't going to get you a high-impact player. So if you can get a deadly shooter with size and a winning pedigree, you do it.

Also, at this point in his career, Brent is a better athlete than Jon was in his prime. Not saying he is very athletic but he isn't Steve Novak either or Luther Head, for that matter.
