I want to know what the consensus is about our team with a new coach. I want to see if people are more positive. I want to see if JVG can coach these same Rockets to a better record.

So where do you thinik we'll finish?

    Let's do this logically.

The first tier teams are the Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, Kings, so you can probably forget about the top four.

I don't see anyone who was behind us this season passing us up. I mean, who is really going to improve that much? The Warriors probably have the best shot, but I don't see it happening.

As for teams I think we will definitely pass, losing Malone and Stockton should put us past the Jazz. And as for the Suns, we were almost the same as them last season, but we have about twice the potential. In other words, we should improve more than the Suns improve next season. That should be enough to put us past them.

That would put us in at least 7th place.

Next, you have the Blazers and T-Wolves, which are the toughest to figure out. I think it's about 50/50 we could pass either team. So, I'll just guess that we'll pass one of those teams (probably T-Wolves).

So, there's your answer. The Rockets will finish 6th. ;)

I voted 6th. I really do think that JVG will be a postive for this team. I think that with the discipline and structure he will bring to this team that will positively affect the outcome of many "close" games where in the past the Rockets would flounder. The Rockets will play better defense and will play smarter. I think that alone will be worth 5-6 wins. Additionally I feel the team will play better against the poor opponents and be a bit more consistant. Add that all up and I can see us as the #6 seed. Clearly the top 4 are all locked in. That leaves #5 for a team like Portland or Minnesota. I think our team will be better than Utah or Phoenix so I see us at #6.

I'd say 5 at best. Like everyone says, 1-4 are pretty much set. I don't see the twolves improving, they're still a 1 man team. Portland...I don't know, we'll see who is coaching them next year. They're getting up there in age but oddly enough, not maturity. Jazz are done. I think the suns and Rockets will battle for that 5 spot with maybe the trail gangstas.

Of course, we'd probably be the 1 seed in the East. Logic according to Kelvin Cato. :D

This is the single funniest post I've ever seen at this board, for numerous reasons, and none of them intentional.

Without a roster change and vangundy as coach...hmmm i can't say much but I honestly think that we're going to spend another post season watching the other teams battle it off while we make excuses about why weren't in the play offs or who we should have traded for.

I'm looking at 50 wins. IMO, seeding will depend on how well Phoenix and Minnesota will win.

Rockets are #1 no matter if you like it so take it down and write it, Rockets are #1, 2 is not a winner and 3 nobody remembers. They'll finish somewhere between #1 and 5th seed.

We'll be 6th in the West and 7th overall!

Realistically.....we will just have to wait and see...I don't know how Phoenix, Golden State, New Jersey, Chicago, and Utah will be looking....
