link This is pretty sad. I played high school football with this guy. He was a really nice guy back then and he was super laid-back. Most people seemed to like him because he was a funny happy-go-lucky kind of guy. I didn't know him well personally, so maybe there was always some kind of dark side there. I guess that getting to the NFL is such a big dream but it seems that it's just ruined Barret's life. I hope that he can get his life together, because it's been a freefall for him since his big Super Bowl ordeal. I wouldn't be surprised if he had wished that the bullets would have killed him. I'm glad that he didn't get the gun from the cop though, that could have been much, much worse.
From what I know/have heard his problems go way back. I knew him a little, but my sister was pretty good friends with him.
It's very sad because he is a nice guy off the field when it came to kids and charity... He just has problems and i think the NFL should help him out anyway I hope he makes it through the injuries
when i quickly read the title i thought it said, "Baskin Robbins- Rock Bottom" and was preparing to read how you were served a crappy sundae.
HS. She was your year, if I remember correctly. I was a little after. You can email me through the bbs if you want to find out who she is. You will know her (for good or for bad).
I knew him through the Robble brothers and Jeff something. Man, it's been a while. We did Spring Break in 1991, also. Seemed like a good guy when I was out with him.
Update: today Barrett has been charged with three counts of attempted murder (of the police officers).
Fatty - Was that in S Padre? If so, I probably drank a lot of beer with you that year in Padre. If it's the same year that I'm thinking of, the Jeff that you were talking about was probably Jeff Hennis. That was my first year to go to Padre for Spring Break. Unless I've gone crazy and ya'll were somewhere else. It was all a little foggy.
I don't really remember anyone else. I was a year younger than everyone else that year, so I just kind of hung out. I remember that the condo where ya'll were staying was where I bonged my first beer. Good times.
