I heard from a very reliable source/friend earlier today that Charles blew out a knee playing basketball recently. I'm not sure if it was the same knee or the other. Apparently he had lost close to 40 pounds and this was going to be his last ditch attempt at any possible comeback.

I look for him to tip the scales at 360 soon.

Darn. I wish that Charles would come back with the Rockets. That would be awesome. He would've probably followed Jordan and played with Washington.

I don't understand that. Barkley had just signed on for the ESPN/TNT NBA package why would he sign that contract and then try and make an NBA comeback? And considering how much of a big name Barkley is it should have been reported all over the place but I haven't read about it anywhere. I guess it could be true, but you would think ESPN and other places would pick it up.

I think Old School is 100% accurate on his scoops. I do wonder about the "comeback" thing, but I'm damn sure not betting against another blown out knee. :D

"The Curse of Yao" (anyone who says he's a flop).

    1.Charles- ACL (Comeback ruined)
2.Shaq- Toe Worsens (Out of 2 months)
3.Quentin Richardson- Boyfriend gets traded away(Miles)
4.Insert your name here, Yao haters(banishment from BBS?) Try!

I don't think Chuck was looking for a comeback, he's just trying to lose weight.

Barkley mentioned this injury in an 610 radio interview on 9/12/02. Also said he would never touch a basketball again ...

The interview is archived on 610's website.

    2006:
Charles Barkley becomes governor of Alabama.

    Spring 2007:
He brings the Vancouver/Memphis Grizzlies/Express to his home town of Leeds.

    Summer 2007:
Alabama gets an NHL team before Houston.

    Sometime in 2008:
Tuscaloosa, AL (my crappy home pad for now), home of Auburn rival Univ. of Alabama mysteriously goes into a 5-month long blackout.

    Before 2010 elections:
Barkley names himself Dictator for Life of Alabama. All hail Sir Charles.

    Hey, it could happen.

Reason why Barkley's phat ass has another phat ass growin on it:

First of all many apologies to Old School and his friend, great call! Heypee is right you're on the ball! :D You had it before the major news outlets, I couldn't find it anywhere before you posted it. That's tough. It would have been nice to see Chuck go for a ring, if he had decided to go, even though I suspect heyp is right and it was just to lose weight. Hope he gets well soon! :(

    You forgot:

    Fall 2007:
With the team on the verge of bankruptcy Barkley buys team and is first ever owner/gm/coach/player as their starting center. Claims " I can guard any big man in this league"

In the interview he said he was playing with the 76'ers. I hate that team even more now.

LOL! So, if Chucky Brown and Yao have an exchange of words, then the clashing of Chucky Brown Karma vs. The Curse of Yao could produce catastrophic results!
