Im going to Barcelona to study abroad next semester yeah im pretty happy about that... But ive never been to europe... And dont know to much about the city of Barce so I dont know what to expect Im Brasilian so i dont think ill have too much culture shock... but does anyone know a little about the city... like things to do other than watch ronaldinho Ive heard its got a pretty strong nightlife... beaches??? how are those??? any insight from our well traveled bbsers would be helpful... thanks
For Barcelona...or as they say, Barthelona. Clubbing. not much else, you can get a kick out of the erotica museum. Or the sex one like 3 buildings down. Clubbing is really all I did when I was there. There's the usual sight seeing too. If that Albino gorilla is still alive, check him out at the zoo. He looks like a real many, freaky stuff. Barcelona isn't the cleanest or safest feeling cities at night. Can't count how many times I've been asked if I wanted to buy some hash. When you are in Barcelona, do yourself a favor and take the train ride to Castelldefels. The beaches are beautiful, great food. The mountains are right there too. Just beautiful. yeah ive heard that clubbing is what they do there... not really my thing... maybe twice a month... hopefully I get 2 study a broad or a few Ill 4 sure check out castelldefels... infact im googlin it right now, thanks
It's a fun place. Good restaurants, nice places to visit (castles etc.), it's close to Barcelona....and topless beaches..... I'll tell you this, when I was there for a summer it was damn strange to see this chick I was starting to date topless before we ever fooled around. Not that I was complaining....I got to examine the goods before buying I guess.
barcelona is yummy. i've been on three different occasions and it's always been an occasion. the morocans can be pushy but just keep your cool and you'll be alright.
barcelona is great...i went there this past december...you better know how to speak spanish/catalan though
I studied abroad in Milan last year and got a chance to visit Barcelona. Probably one of my most favorite cities in Europe, even though I was only there for a few days. We stayed at a hostel on Las Ramblas, but ventured all around the city. The Gaudi architechture is amazing. What part of Brazil are you from? I just visited Sao Paulo, Rio, and Caraiva (in Bahia) this past New Years...
thats why im going to study there next semester... to learn spanish or i guess catalan.... I speak portuguese so I think ill be able to get by untill i really pick it up... how do you say, "whats your name beautiful" in catalan
thats where i stayed...Gaudi was cool. A little weird, but cool... check out FC Barcelona's stadium even if you think soccer is boring (like me)...the stadium is huge. we took a tour and saw ronaldiho

i just came back from there this winter. i thought it was the cleanest "urban" setting i've ever seen... i got along fine with academic spanish (castilian) and english. the metro is awesome, park guell rules, gaudi is amazing, the beach is gorgeous. if there's anything i regret, i didn't get to make it to the dali museum outside the city. go to casa mila's rooftop on a summer night. if you don't already, get into architecture... no matter what, i think you'll love it. it's my favorite international city.
Barcelon = clean?! Guess I stayed in a shady area. We were near the clubs that are on the water. (on one of the main streets, can't remember the name) Fun City. Fun...and kind of scary at night. Hasheeeeeeeeesh? U buy....Hasheeeeeeeeesh..... (alnight long)
