Agreed. The article might have started a good discussion were it not for the "jab."

This thread is a perfect example of why Obama will be a two-termer -- teabaggers and moderate republicans have nothing in common anymore. The republican party is completely split in half.

Even ignoring the "Barack Hussein Obama" jab, the original premise of the OP makes no sense. Olberman is complaining about the lack of direction in the speech because he wanted Obama to take actions such as banning offshore drilling, raising taxes on the oil industry, making a hard push for cap-and-trade, and seizing BP, action which surely would not please the OP. Does he really want Obama to focus his energy in that direction?

Probably so. These kinds of actions would be more likely to spur the GOP base and would give Fox plenty of talking points that they would be able to twist this way and that to support their narrative.

I think moderates are kind of a cross between liberaltarians and centerists, take my parents for instance, they're registered republicans and oppose abortion, but they support gun control, some regulations of certain industries, gay marriage and don't support things like mandated prayer.

My President is kicking ass against the massive tide of Big Oil, Big Pharma, an orchestrated propaganda smear from an avowed enemy with his own Faux News network, The Republican's unregulated economy meltdown and two wars he didn't start.

Even if he can't exactly get the agenda he wants, you have to admit, just juggling all those smelly balls is quite a talented trick.

    you friggin idiot.

Yep, damned if he does, damned if he don't.

Conservatives have no ideals. They just hate on anything the opposition is supporting. Living to hate....pretty pathetic.

Actually NPR's audience is guess what - MODERATE! Surprise surprise! It quotes from mostly CONSERVATIVE news sources, and is generally considered by media monitoring agencies to be fair and balanced. I guess Fox News was envious of that!

YOu can insult me all you like, but the fact remains what you are doing is racist and unjust. If you want to continue to attack people because of their name and mock them for being different than you and not being whole white bread American - that's great, but don't expect others to not call it out.

And truth be told, I don't watch CNN or MSNBC and I don't listen to NPR. But I do watch Glenn Beck - because I find his show to be pure comedy!

Yep, good way to derail his own thread. Quite funny that he started getting kicked in the family jewels from the left and right. :)

You let us know when he lies the country into a criminal war and should be brought up on war crimes.

omg not the stupid middle name argument again. That is his middle name so there is nothing wrong with using it. It's only a problem if you let it be a problem. There is nothing wrong with the name Hussein. It's actually a popular name.

also Keith Olbermann is a idiot and no one (democrat, conservative, republican, liberal, whoever) should take him seriously. He's just a super angry extreme left liberal who tries to get ratings/viewers but can't even manage to do that.

Because there wasn't a President Barack Herbert Walker Obama who came first that we need to find a way to differentiate the current Obama from.

Then why bother to even post it?

As other posters have noted it is rare to refer to other presidents by their full names. The OP went through the trouble of spelling out Barack Obama's middle name. Why bother doing that when its not common procedure?

You guys are making me laugh.....the only people who have a problem with using the Presidents middle name are the cry baby loony left. It must be some sort of suppressed racist guilt or something that drives this.....but I can't be certain.

WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME?
WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME??
WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME???

OMG WHY DID YOU USE HIS MIDDLE NAME????
