If I owe the bank say 12 bucks on my account in which i would pay it back say 4 days will that effect me? will i have bad credit?
ahh i see.. but how do you get bad credit? if you owe the bank some money and then they close your account?
Get a credit card, charge up around 5 grand, and don't pay your bill. Even better...buy a house and conveniently forget to pay your mortgage payment for about 9 straight months. Do these and you will achieve bad credit nirvana.
Oh please. The best you can get with that is bad credit joy or bad credit happiness. Bad credit nirvana takes much more stupidity than that.
If this was a loan payment, I wouldn't worry about it unless you hadn't made a payment in 30 days because those show up on the credit report (how many times you were late with a payment by 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days). But it sounds like this is a different situation. You will probably wind up having to pay more than 12 if it is going to take you 4 days as they will probably hit you with some interest and various fees.
\ Why is that? I have also heard that if you marry a person with bad credit your rating will decline, why?
Not for sure but my guess is that many times, couples apply for loans jointly, so if wifey gets a car and then divorces hubby, she won't give a damn if she is late on her payments. The reason being that she knows he is on the loan with her (not really as a co-maker but as a "co-applicant"). And any time you are a co-maker or co-applicant on a loan and the main person is not paying on it, it hurts your credit as well. At least that has been my experience when I worked as a loan officer at a credit union 5 years ago.
What Manny said, plus they can, (and mine did) run up huge purchases on all of our cards before she took off. I also, like an idiot, tried to dispute the charges and kept putting off paying them, and, well..... Let's just say I'm finally getting past that chapter in the credit dept.
if you owe $12 on your bank account I would pay it immediately.. I'm assuming you wrote a check and didnt have enough funds to cover but your bank paid it anyways. You can wait and pay the $12 and not have it affect your credit but the bank may not like it and not be as gracious next time. unless it goes to collections who would then report it to a credit bureau you are ok.
