I don't have HBO so I have never seen the show. I have a chance to get the DVD set for $40. Is the show that good and is it worth paying $40?

The action sequences are very good and all the weapons and equipment look and sound authentic based on my extended viewing of the Hitler Channel. If you do not have Netflix or a simliar DVD rental service I would recommend that you do that and rent instead of purchasing these however. Unless its a movie you are going to be watching over and over, don't see much point in buying a movie.

I travel to the UK a lot, and this set was wonderful...it is great for a long trip or for watching at home.

Think of this when you watch it.

Herbert Sobel: What's your name, trooper?
    Donald Malarkey: Malarkey, sir.
Herbert Sobel: Malarkey. Is that slang for bullsh*t?
    Donald Malarkey: Yes sir!

I'd put it this way... I'd pay $40 everytime I watch it.

    I love it.

    Thank you Tom Hanks/Spielberg.

Sorry I left out the most important guy, Mr. Stephen Ambrose, the writer of Band of Brothers.

    Get the book guys.

    RIP Mr. Ambrose.

if you dont want to buy it for 40, I will buy it and have 2 copies. I have watched it in its entirity 5 times on DVD and twice when it was on HBO.

you just dont get tired of those characters.

I want to chime in with my agreement...

Band of Brothers is WELL WORTH $40...best war miniseries I have ever seen.

If you are the type that likes to own the movies so yuo can watch them at any time...go buy it now
if you dont...rent it, you wont regret it.
