Wanted some advice. Got a letter from a collections agency that stated that I owed $4,315.41. I was in a contract for 3 years with them and I had five ppl in my account. i went back to ballys and i said i wanted to take a couple of ppl from the account and they said it was fine that they'll just void that contract and start me up on a new one which they did. which means that the previous contract should have been voided. i've been paying my current contract and havent had a problem and they have just recently sent me to a collection agency. Just wanted some advice on what i should do if i should get a lawyer or talk to ballys about it. the paper says i have 30 days to dispute this. i called and i got this lady who didnt help me at all and was being a smart ass about evewrything. any advice would help.
im thinking that since i have evidence that i have a current account. that shows that it was a amicable contract void.
Dude. The story I told you was in confidence... and I thought the clear was an ointment cream, and that the white was for pain. I'm never confiding stuff to you again, McNamee. Eff you. But, seriously, folks... Before you speak to the BBB or to a lawyer, get a record of someone telling you what they have on you in written form, and then call the Bally's and try to record what they say to you. That lady on the phone should be fired for not dealing with this sensitive matter more carefully. Good luck, man.
if the account was made in your name only, meaning it won't affect the other people's credit, good luck trying to get their money for legal fees.
i get what youre saying. i called a couple of them and they seem to have my back, they're my best friends. we're gonna head to ballys tomorrow. worst case scenerio we'll have to split it in five, but id rather get a lawyer and pay him money than stupid bally total bs. i remember i had a bally thread a year ago and everyone had these horrible stories about them. no wonder they went bankrupt. also anyone have any info on legal fees for this kind of issue? any good quality lawyers, im a college student and work full time at a restaurant so obviously dont have a lot of money to throw around.
i don't know anything about legal fees and what lawyers can do for you in this case, but i can attest that bally's sux. we had a huge argument with them back in the day as well and i'll never go back.
i shouldda remembered how sensitive you are. I only heard stories about Ballys, never joined a gym till recently AnytimeFitness has been cool so far.
Thats why I go to the YMCA, They have everything that you need to enjoy, You can hang out with all the boys and old folks.
im pissed at the friend who encouraged me to do it. so i do expect them to pay up if they have to. otherwise goodbye friendship
Here's a tip for dealing with collection agencies: **** 'em. They don't have any real power. Deny everything, hang up on them if you want to, or you can just stay on the phone with them and amuse yourself by pretending like you're thinking about giving them money and then decide against it and hang up on them again. Collection agencies DON'T CARE if you have a legitimate argument against the debt they're trying to collect - all they want is for YOU to give THEM your money. That's it. They don't care if, in this case for example, Bally's ****ed up. They don't care! All they want is your money.
