Does anyone work for Bally Fitness? Is there a way to cancel a three year membership? My gf wants to terminate the remaining 2.5 years of her contract. We went to a Bally's location and they told me they'll only cancel her membership if she is physically disabled or moves to an area w/o Bally's in the vicinity.
They want proof, probably a phone bill w/ new address on it. I wanted to try to get fake plane tickets and show them she's moving out of country....but I don't know where to find these kind of things.

You can sell your Bally's membership to someone else. Just post it on Craigslist. Normally there is a transfer fee like 39 bucks. I got my gym membership here in NYC using this method. I just bought out someone else's ongoing membership. Thus I pay the rate of like 60 bucks a month for the next 6 months until the contract expires. This guy had a 5 year membership, but it was expiring in less than one year. He was moving and didn't want to pay his membership fees since he couldn't use the gym. This is better than me paying an initiation fee, and monthly cost of 75 bucks for a short term membership.

Bally employee: OK, you will need to fill out this form and mail it in. The process takes about 2-3 weeks. If you believe in a weird form of karma or something, then think of something else.
I have had trouble with ballys a lot. my solutions are: a. know someone what lives out of town where there are no ballys and temporarily change her address to theirs. then send the address change confirmation form to ballys and cancel it. you may have to go several times just to make sure. b. just wait until they send you an offer to buy out your contract, in other words when they need fast money they'll send you a paper saying pay 200 or 300 bucks and you wont have to pay anything else for the rest of your term.
