Well, if you're a teenage boy, the National Charity League is always looking for nice young men with whom they can learn ballroom dancing.

Seriously, check the Houston Press Community Event section. I seem to remember seeing ballroom dancing classes mentioned.

Yeah. I teach some intermediate latin dance classes at UH on Sundays. That's a good place.

    here's a yahoogroups web link :

I really like the spirit of the college groups. The kids are motivated and willing to try things. It's also really cheap, like $ 30.00 a semester or $ 50.0 for non-students. They meet in the cougar den - bottom floor of student center, across from the bowling alley. Sun 4-8pm. Good group instruction, lots of support for both standard and latin.

Another option is the dance place on beverly hills behind chimmney rock. They host the USABDA dance on the second Sat of each month. You should visit one of those dances. It's a nice studio in a new building.

Many serious dance competitors train at King Dancing Center on South Rice at Glenmont. That's where I take lessons. You can see top local and international pros train and get lessons.

There's also the Chinese Cultural Center. My partner teaches some groups there on saturdays in chinese.

Let me know if you want specific names and contact info for any particular style. I'd be glad to help.

If you don't know much about dancing you can learn more here:

    http://www.dancesport.uk.com

    just for starters.
