There are a few fascinating matchups here. First, on the wing, Glover will make his Euroleague debut against Opel's solid and steady Chris Williams. Glover earned a reputation for scoring in the NBA; and Ulker will need him to put points on the board starting the first game. Williams does almost everything well, with or without the ball. He will be looking to set the tone early for Opel. At center, while Zukauskas will anchor the Ulker defense, Opel has its own budding star in Malik Badiane, who is only 20 years old. Last season, Badiane showed he can be a reliable scorer and rebounder, and now he'll be relied upon to keep Opel competitive inside. so far this season he is averaging for 3 games 22 minutes pg, 5 pts, 6.3 rb, 1.6 steals and 1.6 blocks. He is listed as a forward, a german plays center. Oops and he missed the 4th game so I finally found this as of 11/24 Opel Skyliners center Malick Badiane has injured his shoulder and will be out this week in the Skyliners' road game against Panathinaikos. Badiane will undergo surgery next Monday and it is not certain when he will be able to rejoin the team. He came off his best Euroleague game, powering the Skyliners to its first win against Pau-Orthez with 6 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks. As such, the Skyliners' frontcourt rotation will be limited to Chris Williams, Bernd Kruel and Robert Maras until Badiane comes back.
Well, he seems pretty tough, if nothing else. However, if his stats are so miniscule in germany I doubt he'd be a force on this side of the atlantic.
nice find, hope his surgery goes well. hes working his way up the ranks well. first he was on the opel skyliners minor league team, then he made it to the team last year, and now hes seems to be an integral rotation player in the front court.
