man this is crazy ...my lawn looks great but it took me 1 1/2 hours to get to work this morning lots of flooding around town
waiting for somebody tp start storm watch 2006. it's flooding BAD in my neighborhood/subdivision. it's actually creeping up the house, but it sounds as if the raining has slowed down some.
dont get too comfy kam...we got 80% chance for rain the rest of the day....the water has nowhere to go since the ground is saturated. expect to see much more flooding for the rest of today. we getting nailed out here on the east side. Im not worried tho....we didnt flood during allison...so I dont expect that here...but getting to work in channelview is another thing. ugh
I deliver in Pasadena so the closure of 225 is really gonna make my day fun if I ever make it to work this morning...
Stuck at home as the whole city is under water. We've got firetrucks rolling through the neighborhood asking residents to stay put. Good times.
right in the middle of this crap. Hobby is pretty much underwater. freeways closed in all directions (well, almost). hey, no work though.
I am assuming getting into DT is damn near impossible. I called in late as my neighborhood floods. Ya'll keep in mind this is just a break in the rain right now. It's going to start back up just as bad. Seriously, if you can stay home do. I am sure you won't get fired. If so, you might have grounds to sue.
Man are you guys serious? You must be getting it a lot worse on the south/east sides. I'm out near the Galleria.....it's been raining, but no high water or anything. I got to work in the same amount of time as normal. Stay safe guys.
My lawn looks great too. I'm sure my HOA will fire off another letter asking why I haven't mowed the lawn, even though it's been raining non stop lately. My two adjoining neighbors cut theirs down too short, imo, and that makes mine look even taller.
Rain has freaking ruined this weekend for us!!! We drove to San Antonio for a baseball tournament....it got rained out. Drove home Saturday night, planning on getting some yardwork done Sunday...rained out. Planned on going to Schlitterbahn Galveston today....looks like that is impossible now. ****.
I started to drive to work, hit some high water on Tidwell, did a U-turn and tried to take Pinemont instead, hit some high water, did a U-turn, called my office from my cellphone and told them I'm taking a sick day, and went back home. I'm not risking my new car (less than a month old) just to get to a job that I'm probably going to get laid off from next year anyway.
I live just NW of Katy & Beltway. I could make it in to DT but I may not be able to get back in my neighborhood if something happens. I can't swim and highly afraid of water so I don't want to get stuck. Isn't DT looking pretty bad right now?
