I love Swingers. I've seen it 20 times. I can quote it backwards and forwards.

But there's one scene that just...isn't right. At least for me. When Trent and Mike are at the Vegas girls trailer, Trent tells this story about playing "big brother." It drags. And drags. And draaaaaaags. In my book, it's the only scene in the movie that's not perfect.

So my question: what are bad moments in movies that you love?

    Some other ones for me:
Vader's "Noooooo!!" in Revenge of the Sith
The final, gratuitous ending in Return of the King (i wish it would have ended at the gray havens)
the Jennifer Aniston subplot in Office Space

You mean the ending with Sam coming home to his family? The ending that was pretty much the ending to the book?

The part in Lord of the Rings where the Hobbit grabs that palantir and some freaky slow motion strobe scene plays for half of minute.

    Yep. Blasphemous, I know.

Actually, there's another moment I hate in Return of the King. [Rips off helmet and shows locks of long hair.] "I am no man!" Oh, MAN, that line was a clunker. So telegraphed.

I hated the end of that movie too. I understand why it was there, but I didn't like it. But then I actually didn't like the entire subplot of Frodo and Sam trying to make it to the moutain in Mordor. The battle scenes were awesome, but every time they cut back to Frodo and Sam I either fast forward or change the channel. I also hate the song in the end credits. I've made the mistake of walking off without turning the tv off at the of that movie, and every time I do that song gets on my nerves.

The Two Towers, in my opinion, was better. The Battle of Helms Deep was the best part of the trilogy.

that slo-mo in Swingers is god awful. Terrible. I have no idea why they put that in there. they even talk about it before hand. What is that suppose to prove. Plus doug liman didn't even make it look good. It looked gritty and superficial.

in the digitally remastered star wars eps 6: ROTJ, in the end where they changed the old anakin to the new one...ugh.

end of American History X, should've gone on a little bit longer, like show what happend to the family afterwards, as well as to the black kid.

kill bill 2, the final fight was waaay too short.

brokeback mountain, the first sex scene..wtf they just decided to become gay in that moment??!?!should have included some foreplay and more story before that.

    SEMI-KILL BILL 2 SPOILER

i thought it was a fitting ending. the five point palm exploding technique was only mentioned once throughout the movie. i never expected it to show up like it did.

Funny. That subplot didn't bother me. It's the entire embezzlement storyline that I didn't care for, especially after they screwed up and stole too much money. The observational office humor in the first half of the movie was much funnier.

And I totally agree with all the Return of the King "fake" endings. I don't care if it's true to the book, the slow fade-outs were cheezy, and in the book those endings only took up a couple of pages, which cinematically is equivalent to a montage ending with text or voiceover.

I guess I'm the only one who thought the ending to ROTK was perfect.

I didn't like Tarintino's character in Pulp Fiction repeating "Dead N***** storage." That whole scene could have been written better. His wife was going to freak out if she found a dead body in the garage. He didn't have to describe it like that. Made me cringe every time he said it...

I thought that part was hilarious. They were talking about how Quentin Tarantino steals everything from Scorsese, then they steal a scene from Tarantino's Reservior Dogs by doing the slow-mo walk. I also thought it was funny how they stole from Scorsese's Goodfellas when Trent, Mike, and Sue entered the bar from the side-door with the camera following them from the back.

The only part about Swingers that bothered me was when Mike kept calling Nikki answering machine. Very painful.

not a great movie, but worst line ever.

"Do you know what happens when a toad gets struck with lightning?"
"The same thing that happens to everything else."

Talk about falling flat on a punchline.

In Matrix Reloaded: Architect scene I liked. Rave scene was kinda cool and I got the point but was too long and the sex scene within that scene wasn't very sexy (too much skin in all the wrong places). When talkin Matrix I'd say a better example of things gone bad is in Revolutions: the beginning Subway scene was pointless and got the movie off to a slow start (bad move). And the next scene when they see the Oracle and she was different and they were like wtf? and she was like "I had to change bodies." Ummm, pretty lame. If you're gonna go the I had to change bodies route then don't go changing to somebody that is a spitting image of ure last body; become some 80yr old Asian dude or some 12yr old kid or something. Otherwise just play it off like its the same actress/character (ala Dumbledore and Bond).

In ROTJ: I like that Hayden replaced Shaw at the end. It gives continuity to the whole saga and chokes me up more than the orginal ending. The "NOOO!" sequence is by far the worst moment of the entire saga.

ROTK: I thought the ending dragged the first time, but after repeat viewings it makes sense and definitely works.

Jurassic Park: end scene where T-Rex saves the day. It would have worked so much better if he tore down a wall to get into the lobby cause I keep scratching my head as to how that thing suddenly just appeared out of nowhere. It's a freakin T-Rex!

X Men: the infamous toad/lightning lightning line.

"The get-together in the desert by Jim Morrison and "The Doors" members where they took some Peyote in the movie entitled "The Doors" by Oliver Stone. Why did we need to see some desperate attempts to act like they were trippin' balls when they were really just sober and just being plain stupid...nothing at all like someone on a trip inside themselves? If your not willing to trip balls in a desert for this once-in-a-lifetime experience hanging out with a naked Indian in a desert with Oliver Stone filming you, then maybe you shouldn't be in the film in the first place. Thank you!"

Friday Night Lights - The scene where Billingsly's Dad (the country singer) tapes a football to his hands and starts beating him. The real Billingsly has said numerous times that his Dad never physically abused him. Not even close. Why did they put that scene in the movie? It's not in the book. Not to mention the scene where he goes onto the practice field and starts pushing him around in front of the whole team and coaching staff.

Rudy - All the scenes where Frank (Rudy's brother) antagonizes him. The real Rudy says that his brother was nothing but 100% supportive of his dreams from the very beginning.

I don't know, I just get pissed when Hollywood feels the need to embellish an already great true story. It's insulting to the audience.

Count me in the category of nerds who doesn't mind the "Nooooooo" either.

It reminds me of Luke's "Noooooooo" when he finds out Darth is his father.
