Free agency and wheelin n dealin is comin up and we still don't have a backup for Yao..who do you think will Morey go for? Obviously, Bosh will be our primary PF/C target but still a longshot...my hunch, the Polish Hammer...give your ideas guys.

I think we'll pick up Congo Cash.

If we can't get a true back up centre, i think Hill and hayes will do a good job.

i would look at a brad Miller or Brenden Haywood?

If somebody Morey and co. like is available and cheap then we'll address the issue. if not.....expect to see more of Hill and possibly Hayes.

Lol we've been on back-up center watch for 2-3 years (excluding Mutumbo), they aren't going to make that move unless they are absolutely sure that it is the right player for the right price.

Obviously Daryl Morey fabricated the reports that Solomon Alabi has hepatitis and got him to drop all the way to Mavs at 50.

The beauty of this is that the Mavpricks as the morons they are knew nothing of this hepatitis thing. So when Morey calls them tomorrow and tells them the news, they will trade him to us for peanuts.

Backup C problem solved, leebigez falls in faint.

Bingo - the back-up back - up/5 plan (maybe also Shaq?).

Wouldnt mind a one year rental from Brad Miller, Haywood would cost too much but I would like to see them pack on some muscle to Jordan Hill and try him at the 5. Patrick Patterson has a good enough shot where he could even see some time at the 3 spot if we needed help from Chuck on defense off the bench.

    Thanks, missed that.

Well, maybe we are doomed after all. I guess Carl Herrera gets his wish and we get Brian Zoubek then.

I only hope we don't reach with whoever we get.

Some of the trade ideas floating out there are beyond lame for what we'd be getting (Al Jefferson, who has missed as many games as Yao in a shorter career), still I do think Miller wouldn't be bad.

I think what we really need now is a quality backup C knowin Yao will play limited minutes...we don't need stop-gap or aging Centers.

How many years have been wanting a good backup center? It sure seems like forever.

I can see Dallas keeping Haywood. And Shaq and Miller might go ring chasing as they close the book. I can see us with someone like Hunter - not good enough to make a ring chaser team but good enough to fill a team with a need - us.

Yeah it was Toronto wasn't it? Which means, intrigue upon intrigue, maybe it won't just be Bosh, it may be a package of Bosh and Alabi, seeing as how Bosh is not going to fill the need for a backup 5, so we would still need Yao's backup anyway.

I really want Haywood. He's good enough to start on alot of other teams. Getting him would help keep Yaos minutes down. Obviously if we somehow land bosh, which i give a 1% chance, we wouldnt need him. I think Haywood would be a great addition to the team.

Probably a pipedream but if Ainge is really serious about trading Kendrick Perkins, I'd love the Rockets to try to get him. Though he might be a little too amped up to fit in with this Rockets team.

Why no love for Chuck Hayes and Jordan Hill?

I think they are better backup C's than Ariza is a starting SF and Ariza/Taylor/Battier/Budinger/Lowry are as a backup SG.
