Toyota Center was BUMPING........... Amazing atmosphere 4th quarter was unbelivable, when barry got the ball, stepped back and shot the 3, crowd went berserk. Wesley is very frustrating to watch, he is way to godamn short to guard stackhouse and he keeps lighting us up. Maybe put a bigger body on stack, like spoon? Wesley doesn't really seem to be an offensive threat he has good endurance though. James is ****ing awesome when he is hot, stealing and slashing, but pass the ball to TMAC when he calls for it its his team and you aren't Micheal Jordan. Nowitzki blows he tries to draw the foul every time. Dampier looks like a drug user punk and can't buy a bucket. I think we can take GAME 7 if TMAC owns and barry/james keep stepping it up, yao is just well yao...PS funny watching Cuban when Mavericks are in a timeout he just paces around !!! I think Wesley has been doing a decent job making Stack take fallaway 20 footers. The only problem is he was hitting them all last night. I say let them take those shots. We've got no one else who can do a better job, and we sure as hell don't want to double. The Mavs really rely on long jumpers, and that's why they went cold in the 4th. If we keep forcing them to take difficult pumpfaking jumpshots, I love our chances in the final game.
Were you watching the game last night? Everyone else that guarded Stack did better than Wesley. Wes was just too short. We were better when T-Mac was guarding him, with Wes on Fin and Bowen on Dirk.
I was at the game, and I saw Stack make a bunch of tough, even lucky shots with hands all up in his face every time. It wasn't like Stack was taking Wesley down on the box for some little short hook shots or layups. My point was that Wes made Stack take some tough shots, and we need Tmac and Bowen for Dirk. Not to mention that whenever we have Bowen in there our offense tends to bog down. I would still rather make Stackhouse and his long fadeaway jumpers beat us than open 3's from Finley or Terry. Kind of like when JVG put Juwan on Stack in the regular season, and the Mavs went away from Dirk in order to try to expose that mismatch. It ended up playing right into our hands. Stack had 30 last night, but he could have just as easily shot his team out of the game. Maybe we could try JB on him, but he's not as strong as Wesley.
I think it's obvious that we are a better team with Mike James on the floor for this series. Wesley hasn't been able to guard Stack the whole series. We should move Sura over to the 2 and let him and James play a lot of minutes with Tracy and then alternate Ryan Bowen and Jon Barry. If James is out of the game, we should spell him with Wesley and let Barry be the third option and 2nd creator behind TMac. I think Van Gundy is saving the Bowen-McGrady lineup for crunch time in game 7 with those guys taking Stack and Dirk on the defensive end.
